That is such an awesome intro. Though I kinda like this one better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7nsg3__knY

The opening they used for the pilot is also pretty cool. Bonus points because Bosco is chasing Bodie from The Wire :sun:

It's ruined the indie hash in this country as of 24 hours ago

Just like Coolio nearly ruined it in 1995 by coming in at #3

The whinging on facebird was succulent.

Hottest 100 #1 by year(from 1993)

1993 - Denis Leary – "Asshole"
1994 - The Cranberries – "Zombie"
1995 - Oasis – "Wonderwall"
1996 - Spiderbait – "Buy Me a Pony"
1997 - The Whitlams – "No Aphrodisiac"
1998 - The Offspring – "Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)"
1999 - Powderfinger – "These Days"
2000 - Powderfinger – "My Happiness"
2001 - Alex Lloyd – "Amazing"
2002 - Queens of the Stone Age – "No One Knows"
2003 - Jet – "Are You Gonna Be My Girl"
2004 - Franz Ferdinand – "Take Me Out"
2005 - Bernard Fanning – "Wish You Well"
2006 - Augie March – "One Crowded Hour"
2007 - Muse – "Knights of Cydonia"
2008 - Kings of Leon – "Sex on Fire"
2009 - Mumford & Sons – "Little Lion Man"
2010 - Angus & Julia Stone – "Big Jet Plane"
2011 - Gotye featuring Kimbra – "Somebody That I Used to Know"
2012 - Macklemore and Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz – "Thrift Shop"

Is there a pattern here? Other than 'was popular at time of voting'?

Every year the indie cred feels threatened

Wait, why is that guy running from a police officer, only to willingly jump inside a patrol car ? What the hell is up with that ?

You'd have to see the full episode for it to make sense.

Short version: he wrote some graffiti on the side of the first officer's car (which is why his partner is less than enthusiastic about the chase; she doesn't give a shit about it) so he's chasing the guy to kick his ass or whatever. So he jumps into the second officer's car because he knows the second officer has seniority and also isn't going to give a shit so his ass won't be kicked.

Yeah I was stuck at work. A girl from the restaurant came out to the desk around 8:30pm and said 'hey, you know that song you were singing earlier? That's just played at number one(!!!)'

I don't know why people are surprised

Frothing at the mouth, I'm sure

At the end of the day, the analysis is this: Hottest 100 is the one time of year that people who don't normally listen to Triple J will happily vote so they can attend a bbq where it's playing and say They Participated. They're not as influential as the doomsayers believe, otherwise we'd have had 3.) Gangnam Style 2.) Call Me Maybe 1.) Thrift Shop

I rewatched some of the first season of Third Watch last year. The first few episodes are REALLY heavy on great 90s electronic and dance. Then it falls off, hard.

While a intense lighting storm exploded over my house (the lighting bright as a flashbulb and the following thunder feeling like a artillery strike) I got wind of a pretty horrific hit-'n-run in my neighbourhood where two cyclists got run down by an irresponsible driver.

Also in the past weekend my prehistoric house boiler has permanently packed it in and my relatively old laptop from 2007 has its POS OS (the infamous Windows Vista) playing up.

Well I'm just glad my house's central heating packed in when we're on the right side of Solstice and we've got a gas fire.

Is there a word for the kind of liberalism Seth MacFarlane embodies? The smug we're-better-than-you Bush sucks, legalise pot, conservatives are idiots kind of thing combined with rampant bashing of minorities, it's just a joke so calm down PC losers?

This is the best Facebook status update I've sene ina while":
To the douchebag who decides to clean his windows at 65 mph when I'm behind him, in my freshly cleaned car:

Hope you enjoy the hot coffee you spilled all over the place when I cut you off.

Have a good day! :D
While trying to reason with the guy that dirt and dust can get on your windshield just from driving on a gravel parking lot, he called me an unsafe driver for some reason and acted high and mighty because he loves cars. The idea that he'd say I'm an unsafe driver and potentially kill many people because he hit his mid life crisis in his 20s is hilariously tragic.

More:
For someone who takes pride in what they drive, and are into cars, the vehicle is an extension of who they are, it's aggravating when people have blatant disregard as this guy did.
It's so awful that you got windshield wiper fluid all over your douche bag car!

Actually to be totally honest I didn't listen to the Hottest 100 at all this year and only found out what the number 1 song was literally just now. I also don't get the significance of this song winning and have never heard it.
