Ah. I'd agree with you there. Sephiroth had some pretty good visuals, but that's to be expected because his game had better tech to it; I wonder what the whole End of the World of Balance thing would look like if they remade it for the PS3...

Then again, I prefer his SNES sprite over the artwork for Kefka. Granted it's kinda similar, but it's also kinda not.

And of course Sephiroth getting George Newbern as a VA for Advent Children/Kingdom Hearts (dunno which was first) onward gives him an extra +100 in Badass. I've never played Dissidia or watched any videos from it on YouTube, so I don't know how well the English VA for Kefka works for him now that he actually has one.
B-A-K-U-S-T-R-A wrote:Oh, no, what it got was a translation which called Kefka "Cefca" and cut out all the cool lines that make people like Kefka. I think it might have had some swears but I'm not sure. Basically the only good fan translation is the one for Mother 3, because it was a professional doing it because he loved the game.
Cefca? What is this I don't even...

Damn fan translations. I'll check out Mother 3 one of these days I guess; the sheer quirky fun of Earthbound/Mother 2 was enjoyable enough for me to give the sequel a shot. Whenever I care enough to go looking for it.

Whenever I play FF6 I mentally insert Mark Hamill's Joker voice for Kefka.

god damn Stas can troll when he puts his mind to it
Given their embargo, I can't really say their failure is a fully internal thing, but I tend to err on the side of caution and always demand impossible of the communists. The communists should be able to turn a small island locked by enemies into an economic hyperpower that will crush all enemies, into a communist version of the British Empire's all-conquering metropole in the Albion.
In any case, Mother 3 is really good. I'd say that although it's not as funny as Earthbound, it's very good on an emotional level- there's a lot of work put into getting you to identify with the characters.

Oh Chocula Image
Jesus Christ. He was born in America from Yemeni immigrants, moved back to Yemen to be steeped in fundamentalist Islam when he was seven, and came back to America for technotactical college training. His (correct) interpretation of Islam was "submission," and he preached that message. He was a fucking AQ recruiter and strategist. As others have observed, it's absurd to claim that his killing by drones and/or attack aircraft is a legal slippery slope.

Scratch another would-be theocrat.

ugh, elfdart split sentences in the middle again. If you did that face to face, it'd be interrupting and yelling over the other person.

I wonder if they do it just to make the posts look longer, like how a scared animal will puff out it's fur. They are ignoring most the meatier bits, but the posts still appear to be long, and long = in depth, while giving a lot of useless fur to grab on to allowing them to escape.

Its a ploy to get you to give up in frustration, or if you miss one to go "concession accepted cause I'm a fucking loser"

Except this is an internet debate - literally, a meaningless waste of time.

Adam could walk away at any point and he wouldn't be wrong.

I'm hoping he just already had them and merely dusted them off to watch again.

I mean, fuck, even Rifftrax knows what's wrong with the movies, and they're just trying to make people laugh, they don't give a shit about Lucas. Hell, they probably hope he makes more craptastic movies since that's pretty much money in the bank for them.

if i really was an admin of anything i would probably make a bad admin

in that i would arbitrarily ban people like metahive summarily

i think that would be bad policy but can't be sure

yeah

i bought those shitty movies i think in 2003. it was shortly after attack of the clones came out, and i hadn't seen either of them yet and this was before i got the internet

so i saw them at the SEARS AND ROEBUCK CO and figured "hey star wars that'll be worth buying"

oh wait

anyway, it seemed ridiculous to me to have like half the screen be these stupid black bars so i got the full screen editions.

i think these were the first dvds i ever bought too. For most things, I held on to VHS; I purchased my Evil Dead and Rambo tapes in 2005! I still prefer tapes for a lot of things. I wasn't kidding when I said in that thread that dvd menus and previews piss me the fuck off.

(the worst thing is i did buy episode 3 too. what happened with that one is i had the internet by then and people were all like "this is great", so again i was at the sears, saw it and picked it up to watch. this time, i got the wide screen edition.

i watched it with mark and jasmine... mark fell asleep through it, and i was literally embarrassed to be watching that UNLIMITED POWER scene with other people. jas was like "this is terrible". yeah.

but i have the PT and don't have the OT. last year, i bought STAR WARS from amazon, so now i have episode 4 as well, but don't have episodes 5 and 6. My episode 4 is a two disc dvd set: one is the canon version (I guess not anymore thanks to bluray but whatever), and the other is the good (1977) version.

I have Mark's copy of the 2004 dvd set of the whole OT at my house for now, but I don't own them. So I own Attack of the Clones, but not The Empire Strikes Back. A disgusting world.)

since i'm blabbing. for the longest time, i didn't even watch many movies, because there'd always be some little thing that i'd find boring or hideous, and my mind would base the whole movie on that

STAR TREK 2: Refused to watch it for years because the eel scene grossed me out.

STAR TREK 4: I thought the time travel thing was boring. Still liked the movie though.

STAR TREK 6: When they are walking toward that cliff on Rura Penthe, it felt like forever. Boring.

STAR WARS: When R2 is walking through the desert before hitting the Jawas, it felt like Rura Penthe all over again.

I got over it for each movie for different reasons, and realized wow, those scenes are like less than a minute long.
