I found out what happened yesterday. The wreck I mean.

It's a T-shaped intersection with a one-way stop sign where the "T" points north and the crossbar goes east/west (i.e. it's upside down on the map). The pickup truck (the one in the wreck) was facing south and stopped when another truck that was westbound turned northbound. The first pickup made to turn eastbound, but didn't see the motorcycle that was behind the other truck, but continuing westbound. According to the police report I saw, the motorcycle was traveling at 55 miles an hour but only applied brakes for 50 ft, i.e. he had no time to stop. The guy in the truck is 35; the, well, kid on the motorcycle was only 22.

They're not pursuing charges at this time.

Banks are open on Saturday mornings. At least, in civilised locations.

FUCK YOU

actually Bendigo has a branch in town open on Saturday mornings, but they're the only ones

Also Chris, I can remember working for a major supermarket in the days when there was no chance of being rostered on Sunday :v

So yeah, Tassie. Always behind the curve.

Gig tonight went well. It is not every night that you're one song away from Holy Grail in the set and someone approaches the stage out of the blue and says 'hey, I've got my trumpet with me. Anything I could play along to?'

Normally this is something of a faux pas, but in this case I could not believe my good fortune.

I got on the rowing machine today at the local gym. I rowed a kilometre in about four minutes, which was good. But I realised afterwards that someone before me had set the difficulty to maximum. Based on how my middle and legs feel, I worked out. I'll be going back each morning to do more and more.

I pretty much only use the elliptical because it has a little indicator that says what muscles it's working and I just set it to maximum butt workout

Is elliptical that thing that looks like skis crossed with a treadmill?

I think it's called an elliptical I just hold onto some bars and step on little footpads, like an uphill treadmill except with zero impact (I have bad knees)

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope tomorrow's better for you.

Mine's alright. Just about to head off to bed after checking up on my planetary interaction setup in EVE.

Watching TV with my parents, especially the news, has become far more tedious than it should ever be. Especially my father.

They will simply not shut up. Ever. Always commenting this and that, and in the process ALWAYS REPEATING THE SAME OPINIONS OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN

FOR FUCK'S SAKE I'M TRYING TO LISTEN HERE ! CAN'T YOU SEE I GESTURED FOR YOU TO SHUT UP THREE TIMES NOW ?! OR SHOULD I START VOCALIZING HOW ANNOYING YOU ARE ?!

Sorry I'm losing my shit, but this is basically the reason why I've stopped watching television for the past few years now.

Well, that and the fact that there's only two channels airing interesting stuff, and when it airs they also watch it at the same time and can't FRIGGIN' STOP REPEATING THE SAME SHIT OVER AND OVER AGAIN

fuck the news though
I mean just now over here there's a story about a woman who starved her kid to death and then kept his body in her room for two years
I don't need to know this shit, you know? At least when the newspapers get their big throbbing deatherections about thousands dying in Syria, they can make the argument that it's an important event that people should know about. With this kind of individual horrible shit... the only effect covering this stuff will have is making everyone feel worse
and I know it'll be all over everything tomorrow
ugh

The quality of the news here is -slightly- better. Not by much, but you take what you get.

See, the problem isn't that the news are shit. The problem is that EVERY FUCKING DAY, during dinnertime, I get to HEAR THEM BITCH ABOUT THE SAME FUCKING THING THEY BITCH ABOUT EVERY SINGLE OVER DAY (well, that's mostly my dad doing the bitching, but then my mom start argudiscussing, and this feed a loop of doom as far as my nerves are concerned)

And the problem is that, given I can't be arsed to be a good citizen(tm) and follow online news outlet, it means that the 8-8:30PM news are my only windows allowing me to keep an eye on current affairs.

AND THEY KEEP RUMINATING THE SAME SHIT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN

I do sort of sympathise, my dad does that to an extent, and my cousin is fucking terrible for it. Not so much with news as with programs and filums. Like, he'll say 'oh she's angry' or 'that was a mistake' yes thank you I know I'm watching the same thing as you 'I don't understand what's going on' neither do I, it's the opening scene, I'm watching it at the same time as you
and he (my cousin, not my dad) laughs at all the wrong bits of things (he found scary movie hilarious)

And they wonder (not really) why I go to the cinema alone.

How on the left is the UK Green Party ? I'd support the French one, if it wasn't so comfortably centrist on socio-economic matters.

Still, with the Left Front currently collapsing, and the two main parties composing it losing a lot of credibility in my eyes from it (the French Communist Party [who wants to eat its pie and keep it too] and the Party Of The Left [who seems to be the party of its leader, at least as far as I can judge]), I may have to start considering alternative options.

I'd like to say I'm faithful to The Party ( :v ), but it seems The Party can't fucking be faithful to itself or its ideals, so fuck loyalty.

all in a day's crushingly horrible unemploymentwork, IB!

UK Green Party are pretty left-wing, I think. From their rhetoric, it's either them, the socialist worker's party or the George Galloway party (or the pirates lol)
the green party don't have a leader, they have two spokespeople: one woman and one man, and that alone endears them to me
