Oh shit, the Aussie Death Squad's coming to America! I'll be watching my back for a pale, unprepossessing man, all right.

And the front.

And the sides.

Yeah.

EDIT P.S. Thanks for the context, that was actually useful.

Well, it isn't taught in middle- or high-school [1], but it is brought up very often during WWII documentaries involving France, to explain partly the distrust between the French and the "Allies".

As you can understand it was a source of very bad blood between the French (The people at large, whatever their allegiance was) and the Allies, particularly considering France had one of the best fleet in the world at that time, and that it was seen as a gesture by the Anglo-Saxons to castrate France's naval-power and allow Britain to "Rule The Wave" unrivaled.

[1] : the teaching of History in our educational system is quite lacking on a general basis, and as a results of having only two hours a week dedicated to it it tend to concentrate on broad generalities rather than entering into details. As far as I remember, WWII will take maybe 4, 6 hours at best, to be taught, and it will focus over the horrors of the war rather than which battle happened during such and such campaign.

that's pretty interesting, i like learning about how other countries' education systems teach about the same events

like i always wonder how canadian and british students get taught about the american revolution, that'd be a neat perspective

also lol at "biritsh"
