But now Flagg must share this horrifying convo.
She basically came into chat, found out I lived not all that far from her (and next town over to where she grew up) and invited me for coffee. I was so dumbstruck I didn't know what to do. I just kinda froze and... Conversed with her.
I actually met her a year or two ago. Phong was in town, so there was kind of a planned get-together in Portland. She's nice in person, I mean yeah the conversation topics were pretty esoteric but whatever.

Actually now that I think about it I've met a surprising number of past/present SDN posters in person.

Also I love that I was instantly able to get Julhelm to admit that he would readily accept a nuclear first strike against Iran in order to deny them their own nuclear arsenal. I was expecting some kind of vague answer or maybe even "invade them like we invaded Iraq" where I'd have to follow with "and supposing that didn't work?", but no he exceeded my expectations superbly.

also lol:
Julhelm wrote:There is no "taboo" on using nuclear weapons.
lol

edit: totally sigged that

people are different in person than they are on the internet

i very rarely swear when talking, but i cuss pretty regularly when writing

she probably is better able to avoid stuff like that in person because conversation rarely comes around to the things that set her off+people she hates aren't present

the fact that that guy unironically uses "brown people" never fails to put me off-guard and i assume that he's just trolling/sarcastic, but nope, sincere!

Therefore everyone is cool right

You're a cunt but I like you, so I guess my tribalistic instincts cut in. Plus I figured helping start a shitstorm would be funny. :D

I never want to meet any of you except maybe for Hav. And oddly Stark because I think he's just as big an asshole in person and to be in a presence like that would be awe inspiring.

I don't want to meet Internet people because I know what they're like already

And 'pretend to like fatty shutins' isn't a habit of mine

But at least it was a funny day at teo

it's an employee of one of my clients, and i don't name names in public

wait wait wait maybe i do

the company owner sent me a friend request on linkedin.com.... facebook must have pulled that and followed the chain

it must be. god damn it

this social networking stuff disgusts me
