Ok what's funnier
Monomaniacs with nothing in their life but the same star trek discussion they've been having for 15 years
Or people who 'discover' other scifi and make hilarious threads with hundreds of pictures obsessively 'recapping" something everyone else has already seen

ADR will never out sperg Vympel
Not now he's moved on from Russian commanders cupolas to frame-by-frame homoeroticism
It's like he never realised non st/sw scifi existed
And man I watched sg1 back in the day
And the only discussion done to death about it is OMG TRH ORI MEGALAYZORS ie nothing interesting

Look man, I'm still legit pissed at that asshole who spoiled
Titanic for me by saying the ship sank.
I really thought Cameron was gonna change it up on us. Damn unimaginitive hack.

There is an apocryphal story that must have some basis in truth about a woman, being consoled by her boyfriend at the end of Titanic as she sobbed. "Don't worry babe, it's only a movie."

If Starfleet was more like the US Navy I guess they wouldn't be flying around the galaxy in starships would they?

early sg1 is pretty trekish in that you have episodic random sci fi adventures where they solve problems
yeah they have enemies too but the solution more often comes from daniel jackson than GUNS

I would like clarification, Stofsk. When you said the uniforms weren't bad, did you mean the original TNG uniforms or the later ones?
If you were talking about the later ones, I agree they're not too bad. But the original ones? Man, those were the second worst Trek uniforms ever (TMP being the worst).

I was talking generally. In general the uniforms aren't that bad, their only flaw aesthetically is being too colourful, like TOS and TNG.
TMP toned the colouring down actually, but this ironically had the unintended consequence of making the uniforms look bland. They also suffer from 70s-itis. The early TNG spandex uniforms were the worst though.
