I've been checking around on SDN, looking at profiles and such, and I have to wonder.

How many people are really left from the early days, I.E. 2002-2003? From what I can tell it's just me, Connor, Stark, and Batman, or at least they're the only ones who still post fairly regularly.

I feel like I don't "connect" with SDN the way that I used to. None of the guys I played in the old STGODs with or chatted with in the discussion threads for the best seasons of SG-1, SGA, and nBSG are still around. It feels like i'm the last one still living in the old neigborhood, where all my friends have moved away and all these new younger people have moved into their houses.

Still, even if you count the infected one up there, that's what, five people still around? And none of the old "big names" still have anything to do with the board, aside from Rob Dalton. I feel like in another couple of years i'm going to be the grizzled old-timer sitting with the kids around the campfire, telling stories about the days of yore when Darth Wong walked among his people and Darkstar and his trektard hordes menaced the board.

Actually in this case I believe b& = banned, as in you should get "banned like the cool kids" (himself, Bakustra, evilsoup, etc).

You're just not remembering and/or don't like some of the old timers, but they exist. From the first 50 results alone I can add Phong, Sea Skimmer, fgalkin, Beowulf, SirNitram and Kamakazie Sith. I think a few more of them show up from time to time but I don't exactly keep track. There's also Yosemite Bear and I'm sure plenty of others from 2002/2003 who are mostly regular still.

I think you're overstating it a little.

Hell, even Batman has been around since the first week of the board.

Now certainly a lot of the Old Timers have dropped off and moved on or whatever, but I don't think it's quite the death of oldbies as you're making it out to be.

I actually got away with taunting fgalkin to ban me once. But it was on April Fools so it probably doesn't count.
