the SB search is down, but the gist of it is that Einzige left enough of a trail that one of the mods followed it to his name on a sex offender's registry. einzige started a thread where he threw a hissy fit over congress approving a couple million dollars (like ~$30M) for ads at sporting events and sponsorship for three stock cars in NASCAR. he then started referring to anyone who liked NASCAR as white-trash or rednecks (I had to inform him that typically white-trash and rednecks use those terms for endearment); remember einzige was a sockpuppet of ArcturuskMegsk on SDN who advocated killing theists because they were delusional. one of the mods confronted him about why he felt he was such a better person than they are and revealed that he was on a sex offenders registry for molesting an 8-12 year old (IIRC), he denied it saying his uncle had a similar name to him, was told that if he keeps lying the mod would post the info for all of SB to see, left for about a month, came back and admitted it was him.

i'm not really active in it anymore, either, but i was for a few years before i realized i'm not outgoing enough to be the activist type. i mostly just follow a few blogs now

a lot of atheist groups seem not to know if their message is "religion is false" (which i agree with, for everyday definitions of religion) or "religion is harmful" (which i really don't know about). either one can get sour when it's asserted with enough smugness in public though

also dawkins and hitchens are awful mansplainers. like i once saw hitchens, on a panel in australia, try to tell an iranian woman how she would be treated in iran

I was thinking more along the lines of "Factual" Trolling, i.e. "Yeah the country would be better off. There would hardly be any Republicans in positions of power," or "Sure. That gold standard thing would sink us and everyone would realize what utter fuckups the new Republicans are."

Something like that. I don't know. I've not put too much thought into it beyond being tempted by it.
