Apparently you didn't feel like going in a fugue state to remark on that one.

What's next for the PC Thought Police to "outlaw" for fear of offending people? Nincompoop? Halfwit? Moron? Idiot? Slow witted? Ignoramus? Imbecile? Idiot? Brainless? :wtf:

Either way Microsoft have done something very short-sighted and stupid by having the Xbox One needing an mandatory internet connection, which is too impractical and hamstrings it (when the internet can be very temperamental in most parts of a typical developed country and at certain hours of the week).

And the term "retard" in of itself innocuously means "To cause to move or proceed slowly".

I'm not sure that my mild disapproval can be accurately described as 'thought policing'

OK, I clearly overreacted here, I should just watch my fingers and stop thinking about the uncomfortably Politically Incorrect Tropic Thunder.

Also (to stop this thread derailing) I've read that the Xbox One and PS4 do not play 360 and PS3 discs, but will have access to older generation games through online streaming.

I guess this as good a visual representation as any for Microsoft's nonsensical strategy with the Xbox One:

Fair enough.

I'm pretty sure at this point that I might just wait it out until a bit after Xmas. Neither console has any launch titles which will really grab me.

That is a terribly un-American thing to say.

So I just finished playing Dishonoured. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Though to be honest, there were too many times where I felt like I wasn't playing it properly, or taking a route that I was never intended to take or something.

Isn't that the whole point?

I managed to get through two playthroughs and watch someone else's run through the game and not get bored since there actually was a fairly decent delivery on the multiple ways to get around promise

What I mean is that I felt like it was never intended for me to go that way, because it was far too easy.

If you ruthessly abuse the jump power and crossbow, then its really, really easy.

Non lethal is the most rewarding, and most annoying.

Yeah, on the hardest difficulty the turn-to-ash spell combined with the crossbow is a lifesaver, and I actually ended up having to use a bunch more of my items/abilities when I got into trouble. I actually had more fun with that playthrough than my no-kills/stealth run, though that was fun in a different way. Felt more like a puzzle game in some ways since the tension was more in getting caught messing up your run rather than any actual danger to the character.

You know, I wish they would redo something like Alpha Centauri, with modernized gameplay. If not a stand-alone game maybe a mod of Civ 5.

I like the idea of a Civ game centered on the colonization of an alien world.

I mean, my favorite map on Civ 5 these days is a modded map supposed to represent Mars. It's a blast.

Also, I liked the "final frontier" mod for Civ 4 and would appreciate it greatly if some people were to "port" it to Civ 5.
