Or maybe if they just started shooting him as soon as he opened the door. Maybe use some flash bangs or stun guns. Maybe in addition to those rebreathers, the Jedi have some light grenades.

The Jedi in the forest would have been pretty screwed if those ineffectual droid flyers had regular guns or grenade launchers
Also why did they bring Kidakin with them to a potential war zone? Did the Force tell them he would engage in hijinks and take out the droid doughnut? It's a good thing they couldn't do anything about an enemy ship in their hangar like at the beginning of the movie.
