Woo woo people are their own worst enemy.

A friend of ours baby has McCune Albright Syndrome and her doctors have suggested she supplement with formula in order to stop her weight loss and hopefully gain some back. Cue wailing that baby needs mommies milk, antibodies, etc.

Look up the definition of "supplementing"

Fuck

They also don't vaccinate. Her first son had a "reaction" ie vomited after his first round, so no vaccinations for any of them. And we're having a measles out break.

No wonder the docs have threatened to sick CPS on them.

Yesterday morning we discovered that under the straw in the pig stall was a bunch of ice and water, requiring us to build another. Made a mad dash into town for lumber and eight hours later we have a better, drier stall. One that separates the boar and sow.

Fucking sore as hell.

Gotta go to the doc, pick up chickens and go into the city for groceries and pay the furnace guy. Gonna be a long day. Pigs show up this evening.

The water in the barn? A result of the manure from the previous occupant absorbing all the meltwater. He could have cleaned it up in Nov before the freeze but he wanted to wait till spring. Told them Tuesday that pigs would be here today. Surprise, surprise, a no-show.

Fucking crook

oh god fucking what
just 'upgraded' to the latest version of Firefox
what the shit is this shit? The previous design was basically perfect, why did they fix what wasn't broken? Is it to make it better for mobile phones or something? Ugh.
They've moved the back/forward buttons for some reason, and it's really annoying. I keep almost clicking on noscript.

Have to justify those programmer salaries somehow, right? :v

This is also a distinct possibility. Fucking mobile phone crowd ruining everything. First Windows 8, now this. :argh:

The back button has been moved over to just beside the address bar (previously it was over on the far left, so I had the addon buttons between the back/forward buttons and the address bar) -- so now I keep moving my cursor up to the noscript button when I want to go back. This was clearly made as a space-saving thing -- now the forward button only appears when it's possible to actually go forwards, freeing up screen real estate. It's still annoying.

The favourite star, which was previously within the address bar (just before the refresh symbol) has also been moved, over to the right, and turned into a monochrome symbol. I can see the logic of this, for mobile phone screens where it would be awkward for people to press it with their fingers without accidentally refreshing a page. Doesn't make it less annoying though, and I preferred the old gold-coloured star.

They've moved the 'Firefox button'. A few versions ago, they added in the feature of consolidating the File, View, etc. menus into one drop-down menu (this could be changed in the settings). This button was in the top-left corner, just before all the tabs, but now it's on the far right of the screen. Again, this makes sense for mobile phone screens -- it leaves more room for the tabs -- but it's still annoying.

The active tab is now rounded, Chrome-style. This mostly seems like an aesthetic choice rather than a functional one; I don't like it, but on its own it wouldn't be enough to annoy me. I'm sure there's an appearance addon somewhere that'll change all this stuff back.

They've basically made firefox more like chrome, without really appreciating why some people might not like chrome.

Am I the only one who finds the use of the term "life hack" (or 'hack' for short) silly when applied to little, improvised solutions to what are, typically, minor annoyances?

It's 104 degrees where I live right now. For people that use Celsius, that's 40.

Are you in Santa Ana? That's where I am and my car's thermometer claimed it got up to 106.

It's still hotter than a ...thing that I can't bother coming up with in this heat.

It's hot.

Makes sense. Any state with large urban areas like NYC, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles usually has a pretty strong anti-handgun crowd because of gang shootings. Of course here in Michigan the anti-gun people are largely drowned out by the masses of white guys who like to put on camo gear and run around in the woods playing soldier.

Guys that i'll be joining soon if my uncles get their way......
