Man how hilarious is it that Cunt Cockula doesn't know what salad tossing is, and then attacks me for not being an ignorant twat?

Since they didn't take the bait from you, I just decided to go ahead and invoke Pun-Pun.B-A-K-U-S-T-R-A wrote:I love that nobody got my original post or even challenged the Diplomancer, instead focusing on the Peasant Railgun. But I have a number of other plans of attack.
Did you see the new level 1 version? Genius, but undoubtedly they'll pull off "Well John DeLancie stops you!!!" as soon as somebody sees the post. Anyways, I'm off to troll some more.Civil War Man wrote:Since they didn't take the bait from you, I just decided to go ahead and invoke Pun-Pun.B-A-K-U-S-T-R-A wrote:I love that nobody got my original post or even challenged the Diplomancer, instead focusing on the Peasant Railgun. Unsubtle, but it's a pretty straight-forward way to shit all over that thread.
Probably, but that leaves it open to "Well the omnipotent version of me from a reality where he was not stopped by John DeLancie uses his powers to retroactively stop him from stopping me!!!", which will surely devolve into an overall increase in the average quality of the thread.B-A-K-U-S-T-R-A wrote:Did you see the new level 1 version? Yep, that's where it's at right now, so I'm dropping the mask and getting all sincere.Civil War Man wrote: Probably, but that leaves it open to "Well the omnipotent version of me from a reality where he was not stopped by John DeLancie uses his powers to retroactively stop him from stopping me!!!", which will surely devolve into an overall increase in the average quality of the thread.
you mean "what if all writing was GREAT"weemadando wrote:I got linked to this the other day and realised that they might as well be talking Stu.
What if all writing was like Sci-Fi?
What it comes down to is whether you treat D&D rules as literal, mathematical laws that govern the basic realities of the universe (a human being occupies a 5x5 foot square on the ground, and teleports from one square to the next in five foot increments). Or whether you treat them as simulationist mechanics for representing a (complex, magic-laced) underlying reality, in which no good purpose is served by tracking a man's position to the inch, even though he is perfectly capable of choosing to move one inch to the left or right.
simulationism is rpg rules that simulate reality in some wayadr wrote:wat does the word mean

in ten words or less

Fuck man.
Just... fuck.
Yeah, but I love that he throws out "simulationist" without even knowing what it means. It's a very specialized word that really only applies to like five or six role-playing games that have ever been sold commercially, and yet he's picked up on't unknowing! Or, rather, a whole bunch of people seized on it for D&D 3.5 because they thought that simulates=good.Chadz wrote:I get the impression he means something like...when gamers make a distinction between "arcadey" and "Simmy"? Maybe? Could be he's just mental.

do it! i've heard things about it but i've never really seen it in action so to speakstarku wrote:the way he used the word is bizarre
because i have literally never met anyone who thinks 'simulationist' is good
bakustra i can do a LETS READ RPG for phoenix command if you like
