Aussie sporting talent
Why aren't you teaching THEM to be levelheaded and introspective instead of the foreign policy enforcement agents you preach to

Protip: when resubmitting paperwork to the government because your company fucked up, do not write "Plz reconsider as 2ndary ins thx" over information necessary for identifying you.

Come on, fire up the illuminati mind reading machine and dig up their personal information. Somewhere between their fantasies about their mother and treasonous plotting against the USGOV you'll find what you need to know.

Phant, I wish I could, because it's already been eclipsed by a doctor's office trying to bill Medicaid $50 for their office's coffee delivery, being denied, and then appealing it.

Is it people like you making this kind of thing happen?

it's a combination of factors, like missing any mention of it on the news in the week leading up to it, not watching channel 7 like, AT ALL, and just general apathy to sport in general and tennis in particular
EDIT Having said that last point, I may sound like I'm being pretty harsh on tennis and the Aus Open. I actually would sit down and watch a good match, and I've seen some rippers over the years. It's just I'd rather know beforehand that a match is going to be good. That and I'm a little out of touch wrt the current crop of Australian talent as well, which demotivates me.

Man, it's always kind of awkward when I mean to quote a post on SB and accidentally hit the "like" button instead.
I never have the heart to unlike it. It's like ... deliberately going out of your way to let the other person know you disapproved of what they said now.

So, with the hostage crisis in that Algerian refinery, can we finally hope for Algeria to take a more active role in the Malian war ?

that means they'd have to ally with the french.

So just because of that they'll let the area south of their border become even more unstable than it already was, and take the risk that what happened these last days, on their sovereign territory, will not only continue but gain in intensity ?
Goddamn. We have to turn the page and move on someday. If France and Germany managed to build the Franco-German friendship, then surely we can do the same with Algeria, even more so when so many of our own citizens come from there.

well, more to the point is that algeria is stricken by their own islamists, so any pro-french, pro-western, intervention is likely to be viewed as anti-islamic, which would rock the boat far too much. i mean, the insurgency has only been drawn down recently, the government isnt all that interested in giving any more fuel to the fire.
ps. moving on and 'forgetting the past' is a lot easier for the abuser than the victim. and algerians viewed themselves as victims.

I know, that's why I never said a thing about "forgetting" the past, and never would have suggested such a thing. What I mean, is acknowledging it as something past, and that it only belong to us, here and now, to build a better future for both our countries, and for our people.
We didn't forget what the Germans did to us. The Germans didn't forget what we did to them. But me went on.
The Algerian War ended half a century ago. It is time to move forward.
