New Testingstan

I liked the two new trek movies. Everyone in them except Kirk is doing an excellent job with their characters and their acting; the second movie is even about something (though it does spend an awful lot of time being about a lot of the same subjects as the first movie was supposed to cover).

The shine's really worn off on it for me. Most of the characters don't actually do a lot, the Cochrane plot isn't really that interesting until they're in the rocket, I don't like the Borg Queen supervillain concept, the whole time travel plot is inane.


The TOS movies nearly all have the same thing in common: the Kirk-Spock-McCoy trifecta, and the amazing chemistry they have. Even The Final Frontier has some great moments with the cast.

So true. I find myself referencing TFF from time to time because it is amusing... First Contact is just meh. Like it isn't bad, but it isn't really all that good either.

First Contact felt a bit cheap and closed in after the Borg space battle concluded? But most Star Trek films are very medium budget.
