Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
I've been waiting for it to come out in paperback, since I can't really justify spending 20$ on a book right now.
I think it was meant to set up new characters for more books, but with the Disney deal and the supposed memoratum on post-ROTJ EU works, It could end up like B5's "lost tales." An interesting thought experiment, but ultimately going nowhere.

My library system seems to stock pretty much everything in hardcover, which is how I read it.Darksi4190 wrote:I've been waiting for it to come out in paperback, since I can't really justify spending 20$ on a book right now.
Has there been any kind of official word or anything credible on that, or is it mostly just speculation? I mean I don't doubt at some point it will happen, but there's about two years before Ep7 happens. They could keep it going if they want to.Darksi4190 wrote:I think it was meant to set up new characters for more books, but with the Disney deal and the supposed memoratum on post-ROTJ EU works, It could end up like B5's "lost tales." Actually I think it'd be cool if they revamped things and made an "O(riginal)-Canon" when it does happen, to continue those stories and characters while C-Canon and the like moves on to focus with the new G- and T-Canons.

Please massah Lucas, let us keep our crappy fan fiction canon!

Alright. Does anyone know when we're getting Season 5 DVDs for TCW? I'm slowly acquiring all the seasons, and I can't find five anywhere. Amazon's offering it digitally through their "instant video" thing, but no physical copies as of yet.
Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
October 15th, which is also when they're releasing the complete series box set.

But seriously, are you really surprised they'd make a complete series boxset at some point? Shit, even motherfucking Power Rangers is getting a 20 YEAR BOXSET made. Seriously.

Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
that is awesome. i shudder how to think how much they're asking for it though.
To the Brave passengers and crew of the Kobayashi Maru... Sucks to be you
Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
My guess, around $500 or so. Gonna be 98 discs, so... And I like how they're leaving two extra spaces, so if you've got the two movies on DVD you can put them in there. That was a neat touch.

Random Musings.
I think how invested I get in the new "Disney" era of Star Wars will depend on how good Rebels is. It'll be the first thing to come out of Lucasfilm that wasn't put into production while Lucas was still in charge, and it will be a good indicator of how much is going to change and how much control Disney is going to try and exert on the franchise.

hey remember when some comics people were freaking out about disney buying marvel?
Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
So I just finished up reading Scoundrels and, it being written by Timothy Zahn and all, the book was of course most excellent. Very fun, a heist scene as awesome as anything in the Oceans series, and the twist at the end I did not see coming but which was damned awesome and I won't ruin it for anyone, even if you ask. Go read the book if you must know.
I wish they'd give Zahn more book contracts. He really does do Star Wars right.

Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
I haven't been to the local library in years. They aren't good on stocking the so-called "mass market" science fiction or fantasy books. Most of it is at least a year old, usually two.
Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
It is possible to have books ordered in to most libraries
there may be a small fee (if they don't have it in the local system), but if it's a book you're probably only going to read once then it's probably still worth it

Well it's certainly more impressive than any of the SW toys I remember playing with as a kid.
Speaking of which, I still have a ton of them downstairs, still in original packaging since I was into collecting, and I have literally no idea how to find out how much money I could get for selling them.

Just checking eBay is usually a good gauge.
Don't except a lot for anything that isn't a vintage Kenner figure though.

Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
how "vintage" are we talking? Like, from when the movies first came out?
EDIT: Just checking Ebay, it looks like most of the stuff I've got wouldn't get much money anyways. Maybe i'll wait a couple of years to sell it off.

Yeah. 90's action figures generally don't go up in value.

For example. Mint on Sealed Card (MOSC) Han Solo from the 90's Kenner line.
Three bucks.
