Why must you take away the only light of hope I have in this world? :whine:

My gramma on my dad's side passed away early this morning from cancer.

Peacefully and quietly, in her own home, after basically her entire extended family spent this month flying in to see her (including me two weekends ago).

I'm glad I got to see her while she was alert and smiling. I wish we all had the chance to go like that.

Vale paternal gramma

On Xmas day I got to be involving in springing a 97 year old man from transitional care and take him to see that the garden he's poured his life into is still being tended in his absence. Fuckin' mint.

This is the spirit of it

He's a top bloke. Really wanted to write his memoir but by the time I'd formed a plan the ship had sailed.

Threw some fish out for the fox that comes down the driveway every night and it was all mooched by coyotes. :(

Written a bit earlier, posting just now:

So a commando of two fundamentalists extremists just went to the redaction of a french satyrical journal today, and straight up murdered 11 people and made 2 more wounded. (Edit: 12 dead now)

(Graphic) videos of the events are already circulating on the web.

The atmosphere in the classroom is starting to get heated, as the usual suspect is yet again calling for the genocide of all arabs / muslims.

Just right now he evocked his wish to take arms and go kill a few of them.

Of course, maybe worse than that, the rest are "jokingly" talking about killing muslims in the street and voting for the far-right racist party.

Today I told a coworker to go fuck herself and called her a "bitch" in front of a customer. Bottled up frustration with shitty employees got the best of me. I took full responsibility of the altercation and even told my managers that I no longer feel capable of being a trainer at work. The GM disagreed after she talked to me about the incident. My good will is gone but I look at this as a learning experience.

So my wife has a friend whose daughter has a compromised immune system, she has McCune Albright Syndrome...and she is an anti-vacc'er.

Hardcore.

Herd immunity could save her daughters life.

OK, so I stayed three nights at the London Anime and Gaming Convention at a pre-booked hostel (with shared accommodation with rock solid bunk beds and rubbish communal bathroom suites, brrrrrr) and on the second night a fucking idiot was perpetually knocking on the door to my communal sleeping quarters because he lost his keys.

I've lived in one for the past month and I'm booked through for the next month. AND it's run by black people!
