I do usually try to be funny about the bad arguments I make but I was just trying to find out the degree to which IB felt it was reasonable to claim my preferences are invalid

also, do you think I'd hold half the positions I do if I weren't incredibly prideful and/or bitter? :v

On a different note:

Why? Dear God, why? I'd been so good. I hadn't even visited for weeks. I have a sickness! A SICKNESS!

The laughable Gibraltar bullcrap sounds like relatively harmless showboating and posturing over a strip of land that was historically African Muslim anyway. And yeah, whatever you say about British Imperialism, and Russian, Spanish, French, Austrian, Prussian, and Portuguese imperialism is better. No wait.

I'm so glad I've rid of that place.

Do you realise just how defensive you sound when you go on about stuff like this, or is it something you can't even recognise?

ugh "two broke girls" on cbs.... i don't get this show

racist stereotypes and rape jokes

is this supposed to be funny?

and the money counting gimmick doesn't even add up. i recently saw someone on the internet praise this for having leads who are lower class, but i don't think the show follows through with that at all and mostly just uses the 'broke' thing as offensive, unbelievable jokes. again i feel the need to favorably reference roseanne in this department

The thing is, the Roseanne's of this world no longer exist they either became upper middle class or poor, since that's what lower middle class is now.

Like seriously, if you pitched a show like that now they would want to know how big a trailer to buy.

fucking this
the best bit (where I've seen people arguing about this online) is fuckwits waving around the treaty of Utrech, as if a 300-year-old treaty signed by an autocrat with British & allied armies looming over his shoulder has any moral value.

"Other imperialisms are bad too, so why should ours be bad?"

Also, if it's historically African Muslim what's keeping it from being African Muslim now and can you justify it?

I think he's trying to say that all the other empires did worse shit to its colonies. Which would be an hilarious lie.

There is no such place. It's a myth made up by Christian charities.

On the one hand, I really want to see The Cat Empire play live. On the other hand, I don't dance, and making people dance is sort of what they do. Decisions, decisions.

My ex has seen Cat Empire live several times in their very early days, and considers them one of the best live acts she's ever seen
And she can't shake it

@ Knub : 'kay, noted. Maybe I'll give it a listen someday.

@ IB : Not me, I don't "follow" Tumblr. I use my browser's bookmarks instead, and just check "by hand" the few Tumblrs I kind of follow.

Man. Going back and re-watching DS9, I really wish there were still Sci-Fi/Space Opera shows like Star Trek or Stargate being made in the U.S. I'd really like to see something that has spaceships shooting at each other that isn't either on a kid's channel or in a different language.
