Oh

I have no idea.

Wasn't the whole Omnimech thing a big deal even though it only applies to people following strict rules in like a campaign because everyone would just be using custom robots anyways with unlimited parts and shit

i mean weren't most other games on their second revision by that point

I don't even gt what omnimech was supposed to be

It sounds like back porting videogame mechlab into the RPG because none of it is hugely relevant

But in he 90s modular was a big buzzword

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/OmniMech

it's a bunch of BS

basically they're mechs with POD SPACE to mount shit

like there's cutaways Mad Cat arms with different weapons stuffed inside

it's like you know how a bunch of Clan mechs have Glaug arms

it's like they have different kinds with different weapons inside

but yeah it's just who cares you already released mech building rules

it's not like people did any math with C-bills

But once your talking about pod space and fitting shit in arms

Dirt you just invalidate your whole engine size significance

Not enough pod space in glaug arms = make glaug arms bigger

what did he do now

also

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Endosteel

what's the point if the lighter material takes up space

like are clan weapons smaller because of that shit

XL engines do that too

i don't think they understand minmaxing

what is that about?

example of aiming?

as opposed to WHAT

you can turn the entire fucking robot and it's still aiming! Doesn't mean it's GOOD AIM!

most of these responses are just like "just don't do it"

like they don't even want to acknowledge it

Having only just discovered MWO a few days ago, I can now safely say it is my most anticipated game in a *very* long time. The MechWarrior series captured my imagination when I was a kid, and has always been a fond memory. I enjoyed playing MW3, but frankly, was so dismayed at the *** backward, dumbed down, childish version of the MechLab in MechWarrior 4, I didn't play it.

<rant>
Colour coding the possible "hardpoints" on my mech? Am I f*cking five years old? Removing all kinds of Mech Customisation to make it more suitable to the moronic early console generation masses to try and make "A successful product". Mechwarrior 4 was, for a lot of old-time fans, the last nail in the coffin for the digital version of the BattleTech universe, thanks to Microsofts attempts to make a lowest common denominator product of our beloved game.
:psyduck:

honestly, that's the only response i can come up with

Wait
Wait
Wait

I looked at that thread

And te devs/testers seriously saying 'just don do that game destroyingly broken thing that has plagued the licence for 20 years'

Like honestly? In a competitive multi game? Are they fucking docile?

Anyway I loved lampooning mechassault for having green health bars just like he other games :v

I showed my friend (RECOGNIZER LAWL) the trailer
holy shit this MWO trailer is boring as fuck
the one robot runs forward while the other robot runs backwards and they just endlessly laser each other
and that one little white robot that runs circles around them should have a huge advantage but i guess not
i would sure like to see some cool robots running around in this lovingly rendered environment
too bad there are no cool robots in this game??

Another acquaintance of mine said this
Most Mechwarrior fights look like two guys trying to battle over a parking space.
