I've seen a great white breech when taking a bait before. You just...you wouldn't know about it. You'd be fucking dead.

In the case with the South African, I can agree. But let's take a look at one of the most glorious deaths of last year by an act of stupidity: Ryan Dunn. Ryan Dunn just wanted to have fun. So, he drank and drive and met his demise. And given his age and his prevalence of partying, it is not out of line to suggest that he had done it in the past. He also had a record of speeding. His death benefited every person who lived in the area where he would stay and congregate: they are safer. So, yes, some people deserve to die.
See this is why people think your an idiot. He may have deserved to die because he was a dangerous idiot but he had a family, friends, people who cared for him. That leaves a void, it damages them. Thats why his death would be a tragedy.

It is sad that these fishermen have to poach to make ends meet, but god damn it illegal fishing is one of the reasons that the oceans world wide are in collapse...
man if they'd just stop poaching and start starving instead the world would be saved stupid africans

or maybe your own country drags millions of tons of fish out of the sea only to either throw them back dead or bury them in a landfill

could be a flaw in the system going on here rather than single individuals doing what they can within it deserving to be eaten

His scum friends likely enabled his behavior. Parents too, likely. The fact is that Ryan Dunn was NOT a good person, no matter what his parents and friends in denial claim. So, I couldn't care less about their grief. I couldn't hep but laugh at the bubbling Bam Margera who was SHOCKED that his alchy friend died from morbid stupidity and irresponsibility. Keep in mind that he also murdered the passenger. So, yes, I do not care about their grief.

PS. If my brother died from drunk driving, I'd mourn very little. I'd own up to the fact that he deserved it. Hell, he skirted a DUI a few month ago, while over the limit, and I wanted to see him in prison.

Ryan Dunn took someone with him, that's what makes him a reprehensible piece of shit. If he had only taken his overpriced car to the grave with him it would be a tragedy, although mitigated by his stupidity and open for humor.

So whenever the TEO idiots go "religion accomplishes nothing, it's evil" I'm reminded of detroitblog and stories like this:

it's funny because this sort of thing happens in every major city in the us -- maybe not on the same scale, but something like it

i have a sdn-ish atheist acquaintance who likes to say "well if we had a robust social safety net and a secular scandinavia-esque government then religious charity wouldn't be necessary"

and i guess he's expecting that everyone becoming atheists would lead to a more leftish country with a better safety net, but there are too many 20-something atheist lolbertarians for me to believe that

in my fanfiction, the welfare state tries to do good and for most people do, but they have a kind of one-size-fits-all policy and can be impersonal sometimes

religious charities fill in the gaps on the local scale

now the reason i did this is because i specifically wanted religious charities

but i think it's reasonably realistic

Australia has a pretty excellent social security system, healthcare etc and we still have a real need for various religious and secular charities to assist people who a) don't immediately qualify for assistance or (more often) b) have little or no money management skills, and sometimes mental health, addiction or abuse issues to boot and blow all their money immediately on receiving it and then have to rely on the assistance from these charitable groups to make it through.

I also know equally as many Christian socialists. In fact, it's a pretty popular position to adopt socialism within a Judeo-Christian framework outside of the United States since pretty much all of the major teachings worth listening to in that system advocate something similar to socialism.

Mark 12:14-17 wrote:And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.

And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.

how about when people drop someone's real name?

<so and so> (that's Broomstick, by the way, because we're on a first name basis now since we've traded a few PMs, but just in case you're not tight enough to know that)

if it's third person that's not so bad since that way you know whom ur talking aboot

"there was this one time barry (that's what we call him on the hill) was giving me a tour of the national exobiology labs under nellis afb (what you might know as "area 51") and something really cool happened and i could tell you more but classified"

here if i said "he" or something you wouldn't kno wat i r talking about

but when you're replying to someone, it's obvious and you could just as well use "you" or leave the subject off entirely and let it be inferred

so whether you say "bhussein2008, what you don't get" or "barry, what you don't get", it's just unnecessary

it strikes me as trying to make a personal connection or something

but this is the internet :?

and it annoys me
