Yknow no alpha strikes actually makes the wierd loadouts of most mechs make some sense
Because it's pretty stupid to have a mix of range performance in your guns if you always fire them st once

But f you constantly switch as seen in all anime robit shows it sort of does
Until you realize how much 'weight' they waste on them anywya

Maybe if they just had fewer different types of individual weapons (like the fucking robots they stole) it'd be easier to make each one useful lol

also gotta love classic bullshit keyboard commands

alpha strike = auto group fire for all weapons

most people just laserboated anyways XD

In the tt game the turns are so long there's no nsee for mechanics around weapon selection

So of course mw2 doesn't had any
Except in realtime there actually is a need for it especially given range bands and rof differences

Such a simulation!! So realistic!!! UNLIKE THOSE ANIMUUU

all you ever needed in the PSX game was lasers and missiles

no need for giant BB gun autocannons

"My first thought was "why would LASERS be inaccurate?! Then I got an idea. What if each individual weapon had a targeting computer bandwith cost?"

This is what happens when nerds think they know-how things work

how much bandwidth do you need when you tape 10 laser pointers together

Guns literally bolted to the torso cant share bandwidth dude

It's in the iso standard

dude

alpha strike

how can he not overheat firing that many ACs

didn't shitty games invent the idea of an alpha strike

i mean sustained fire is useless in turn-based games so hey fire all of your guns at once and explode into space why not

now its just self-justifying because nerds can't learn and actually think it's SIMULATIONIST and introducing any mechanics to change the playstyle is NANNY STATE CONSOLETARDED

in the TT game, all the weapons can be fired with their attacks resolved individually

i mean you can just fire all your shit in one turn if you got the heat sinks so it's the same thing

there's even a Hunchback variant in the TT game that is nothing but medium lasers and heat sinks to fire them

just ya know

random hit locations

Yeah but that's abstracting the switchig and aiming etc

Not like PUT DOT ON MAN PRESS FIRE ALL ROFFLE

oh right yeah

dude i don't know what happened

I think Mechwarrior 1 or 2 convinced them this is realistic with all the 3d pentium graphics

Looks like LHX = is simulator

But even the novels are about weapons management etc 'aHe raised his mighty gauss penis at 400m'

Every robot show is about actually doing stuff as a pilot

And not just FIRE ALL GUNS LOL KILLED ALL HITPOINTS IN ONE SHOT

and looks better than MW1 too

Combat was broken as he'll due to 90s stuff like total accuracy and helicopter flight at 3 feet being easy and safe

But I guess it did have a detection and evasion system for sams etc

Man stuff like f117 and gunship 2000 are really primitive but have a surprising amount of interesting sim stuff going on

And not MACRO FIRE ALL GUNS

f117 has no guns lawl

alpha strike 2 bombs!

There is 100% a mode that basically makes it a regular fighter with 4 bays and a cannon

Everytime you take off you will get the medal of honor for wiping out libya

when i look at my collection of late 90's flight sims

and thinking back then i used to totally set the enemy airplanes to be the bad guys in the kosovo crisis and shit

and i feel kinda bad about that
