I really like my Nintendo 3DS that I've purchased last Christmas.

Well the first actual 3DS game I purchased was New Art Academy, plus I'm thinking of getting round to getting Zelda: Ocarina of Time and the last instalment of the Layton series (I've already got a load of old-ish DS games too). I'm impressed by Nintendo eShop, apparently Nintendo's strategy of coping with the massive onslaught of tablet/smartphone gaming, and downloaded a few free stuff from there as well (you could also download 3DS games as well, cartridge free, but I hate how much memory that could eat up).

Apart from the grim necessity of replacing my aged, busted ass Compaq laptop and upgrading the house's broadband box in the next few weeks (like having true wi-fi, etc), I'm also contemplating about getting a tablet (either a Samsung or Amazon type) and the Wii U seems the best bet as a next gen console (the upcoming XBox has pissed off tons of people with its code imputting nonsense and PS4 has been met with a resounding meh).

Call of Duty kind of did this five years ago though.

Yeah but I'm not sure if that counts since I don't think zombies were such nerd chic back in the early 90s?

Someone said zombie-nazis are a sign of peak-gaming.

We point out zombie-nazis have been in games for over twenty years.

But that doesn't count because zombie-nazis weren't a sign of peak-gaming.

I think the next step would be incorporating ninjas or pirates, or have those been mainstream so long they're no longer cool?

So my buddy got me a key for Space Marine--and it's actually pretty fun.

That's how I felt about it for the first 2 hours or so. After that, the general shittiness got too obvious to ignore. Game mechanics, graphics, story, it's all shit.

Multiplayer is okayish, but there's significantly better stuff out there.

So I've been playing a few games recently. Witcher 2, which I'd like to spend more time on because it's pretty good, but I'm still in the first chapter. I want to play some Civ4 soon and some of the Total War games but haven't had the time. I've been mainly dividing my time between Dota 2 and beef, after I shelled out for the premium edition. Premium made the game fun for me. Gunmaster especially is my favourite mode.

I've been played REVENGEANCE since friday and it is AWESOME. You can kick a guy into the air and then slice him into a hundred pieces and then tear out his insides so you can feast on their delicious juices.

also you can do all that while wearing a mariachi outfit which pretty much means it's game of the year insofar as silly outfits counts

Also it's delightfully self aware for a Metal Gear game. Like, you play as a cyborg ninja and get bonus points for cutting off dude's arms.

I should pick up Revengeance next. I've been playing through DMC and having a blast but I'm already about halfway through it.

I'm almost finished with MGS 4, so I may pick up Rising it's just as fun to play.
