Or teh terrorists could just attack via something other than airplanes. I bet there are like a million ways to kill people that don't involve airplanes. I also bet that a lot of them don't have mile-wide safety blankets around them, because the fact somebody could kill people that way is not high on people's radar.

it's about a week off the anniversary of black friday, the tornado that came through edmonton in 87 and killed 27 people, injured 300+ and destroyed 300 homes

which was the worst disaster in modern alberta history and one of the worst in canadian history

i never saw it, since it was a year before i was born

meanwhile, there are gigantic fuckin' holes in airport security that nobody does shit about because while you can inconvenience passengers and they'll eat shit, closing holes on the other end would tear airport operations apart across most of the us (if detroit is representative, and detroit is a good-sized airport), seriously hurt the airlines, and generally cause more problems than they would really solve

nobody gives a damn because this isn't about security, this is about appearances

besides a whole 30 seconds of thinking about it will tell you that the security checkpoint itself is almost as attractive a target as any planes
