Yeah, but he's the one blaming the little guy, saying it was a series of unfortunate dumbass mistakes rather than a concerted attempt to make Democrats look bad.

dumbass mistakes aren't really anyone's fault

especially since the people have little notice on what they need and apparently work with tools from the stone age

a pattern of dumbass mistakes is rather suspicious though

i don't remember the details but the republicans labeled as democrats tended to be ones that had fallen out of fox news's good graces

like arlen specter when he was grilling alberto gonzalez, and larry craig after his fall from grace

(this was years before specter switched parties obviously)

two of them probably isn't enough for a conclusion but iirc there were others

but I think he can tone down the "us vs them" mentality

it's the thing that keeps me out of political discussion cuz i don't want to alienate friends over these things

i wouldn't be surprised that (assuming the bias is statstically significant) it is caused by the kind of stories they like to tell

imagine you're the graphics guy

day after day the producers tell you to whip up these graphics

and most the time a negative story is a (d) fellow



so then one day they want a graphic for a negative story and it's an (r) but when you're in your photoshop rush you don't refer back to the paper for everything

and since most the negative stories are (d) you just type that without really thinking about it



and then the proofreader makes the same mistake so it makes it's way to the air





but this way no individual in the news office is consciously making the decision "we hate this guy now call him a democRAT"

but rather they fuck it up due to an existing habit

well i get the impression it was along the lines of "Hey, this guy's acting like a Democrat, so why do we keep calling him a Republican?"

"Great idea, switch his letter to "D", nobody'll notice!"

Fun fact: last night we confirmed Simple English Wikipedia works and today I discovered the mobile site is working just fine. We can all rest easy now, research is still doable.
