I just beat the last boss and I was laughing my ass off the entire way through. This fucking game.

So, the Vergil's Downfall DLC isn't supposed to be released for a few days yet (because Capcom was trying to time its release to coincide with GoW4), but general incompetence got the activation-code accidentally released for a few hours in parts of eastern Europe. It was fixed quickly enough, but not before a fair chunk of people already got the DLC, played through and posted vids/spoilers everywhere.

Looking through it, I'm a little giddy. The story takes a hugely darker turn, Dante is made out to be something of a royal douche (at least in Vergil's head), and it's a nice connection/transition between DmC's Vergil, and the Vergil you see in DMC3.

Just finished season 1 of Halo 4 spartan ops. I'm genuinely interested to see where the story goes. I'm curious as to whether they'll do more "seasons" of SPOPS, or save the story for Halo 5

So there are four games that i'd like to get this month, but even with trade ins and saving on other things, i'll only be able to afford two of them.

The games are Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm, Gears of War Judgement, Metal Gear Rising Revengance, and XCOM.

Get MGS, skip the others, especially Xcom.

Why XCOM? I'm playing it now and enjoying it.

uh yeah, what he said. I just played the XCOM demo and thought it was a lot of fun. Are there problems with the game that aren't made apparent in the demo?

It's boring as hell, the AI cheats like a motherfucker, and the plot is almost offensively stupid.

Edit: I hope you like the computer getting a free move anytime you spot them, along with the to hit percentage being a total lie.

Of those, I'd pick Starcraft. Having said that, I don't know if I will get it. Protoss are my favourite race, and they've buffed the air units considerably, to the point where going skytoss is a viable and competitive strategy when compared to going standard builds, but the pro-players are all whining that it's too OP. Which is total bullshit, since zerg have the best aa units in the game and terran's not bad either, but ohno their poor widdle brood lords are vulnerable to the tempest - boo fucking hoo. Blizzard might nerf skytoss, and when blizzard nerfs something, they tend to do it in a way that it's no longer viable to use those units. Which is fucking great decision making - lategame Protoss vs anything needs to have an option to deal with some of the new units the terran and zerg get, and if they nerf voids again it'd be a fucking travesty.

I do have hope though, when Blizzard said they were going to get rid of the carrier for HotS I decided I wasn't going to get it; they relented due to fan pressure and put it back in.

EDIT I might just buy it for the single player alone though.

If I get HotS, it'll primarily be for the single player. Starcraft is one of about five sci-fi/Fantasy franchises that i've been into since I was just a kid, so i'm always interested in seeing where the story goes. As for MP balance, I don't really care all that much, since I only ever occasionally play multi.

If HotS can manage the same level of story presentation and mission variety as WoL, it's going to be one of my must-own games for this year.

Jeez Metal Gear Rays are like the Corollas of Metal Gears. Any schmuck can buy 'em.
