actually, airwolf has a kick ass theme song

whoa ayb.swf

TAKE OFF EVERY ZIG

sometimes i think maybe i should get a life or something

but then i find some gem like this

N.S.A. Telephone Monitoring Center

each time you dial
we start a file
the private things that you discuss
we then compile

the stuff we hear
like if you're queer
or purchased "girls gone wild" tapes
six times this year

you had privacy till recently
now that friggen bill of rights
don't mean jack to me

now congress may complain all day...
but they just made our boss
the head of the CIA

you just called and we were listening
you just called to check in on your mom

our encryption guys
heard the whole thing

they think chicken soup
is code word for a bomb

you just called and we were listening
while you talked
we were as quiet as a mouse

you just said your aunt gerturde is visiting
now we wonder if osama is in your house

in your house
WE'RE GONNA CHECK

is he in your house?

what say you
Your idea is terrible and you're a terrible person.

Maybe they should just put in more fucking self service points so people don't get stuck behind people who try to pay using a mix of coins, cash, credit, cheque and a gift card which they don't know the remaining value on and insist on running it 15 times to try and get the full amount off the card. Or have an argument because they don't understand a "buy 2 for X" deal doesn't mean that the price of 1 is X/2.

Seriously, additional ways for me to not have someone fuck up my purchases by putting eggs and fresh fruit underneath laundry detergent and a bag of jagged scrap metal is great.

I can now go through my whole supermarket experience without having to talk to another person.

I don't really have a problem with this.

When I read those I go: "is this external mockery or internal humour?"

Because I want to believe that not everyone in the crazy US apparatus is a true believer and that there's a bunch of folks who go: "seriously? We're recording conversations of a 78 year old guy in a nursing home in Kansas who's never travelled further than Wichita - because he got on our radar five years ago because a Basque terrorist had used fake documents with the same name to cross from France into Spain? And then because he's a old, cranky, conservative bastard who regularly says that "the president don't know shit and needs someone to give him a slapping" he stays on our lists? And you think it's a good use of my time to transcribe and file reports on this guy's questions to his son, who has travelled to Ohio once for a farmers conference, about how the farm is going and how the old heifers and bulls are still travelling?"

And not just: "WE MUST LISTEN TO EVERYONE SAYING EVERYTHING BECAUSE EVERYONE IS AN AL'QAEDA SLEEPER OPERATIVE WITH ORDERS TO BLOW UP THE WORLD AND BEHEAD OUR BABIES AND MAKE OUR WIVES INTO THEIR HAREM THE MOMENT WE SLEEP."

i mean, don't get me wrong, i bet if you're at a table with shatner and he feels comfortable he can spin a fine yarn

but the general impression is that he's an asshole

stewart's probably fine as long as you don't mention trek

in terms of sheer "dude you could hang out with" factor, scott bakula is probably tops among the starring captains

The impression I get is that Stewart appreciates his time on TNG (had fun, loved the rest of the cast, generally thought he was working with good material, made shitloads of money), but he's 1) tired of answering the same question from obscessive trekkies, and 2) is very wary about being stuck as "that Star Track guy" forever. I remember him complaining in an interview once about two nerds who showed up at one of his Shakespeare performances in Starfleet uniforms. That's the kind of shit he's afraid will ruin his reputation as a serious actor.

I don't think Stewart has to worry about being The Star Trek Guy any more, he's pretty well established as a theatre actor and that wheelchair dude who got blown up good by Famke Janssen.

seriously like two weeks ago i saw his picture somewhere and thought 'hey gurney halleck'

i am shamed

there's a lot of things they could do to the existing queue system to make it better but they don't. idk
