Haven't talked to her, but I'm guessing no one in the French military has much in the way of free time right now

Oxy is safe, FYI. We were talking to them in Slack during/after the attack.

Death toll had reached 128 victims yesterday. May have gone up since then, due to people dying in the hospital(s) from their injuries.

Can't talk about my job for obvious security reasons.

I'm booking a weekend in Paris. I'm not letting some extremist make me miss out on the most romantic city on Earth.

Oxy, remember, let the robot cut the wire, and stay away from people who are two weeks from retirement.

I hesitated to post my petty problem given recent events, but this IS the lament thread and I want to vent.

I got dumped over the weekend and it fucking sucks.

Don't. Every problem is petty compared to something. That doesn't make you experiences any less important or valid.

Also, that sucks :(

Cops ask politely not to tweet pictures of operations while they're ongoing, so of course the tabloids set up a live stream with every makeshift barricade and perimeter in Brussels.

Is it wrong that I'm silently hoping my client cancels work tomorrow? The office is in Brussels after all.

I need to not wake up screaming at the top of my lungs at 4 AM with an intense feeling of dread and disorientation.

... Yeah, good thing this happened last night and not before a workday.

But, heh, good point, at least I got to catch up with One Punch Man, and to advance a bit with my game of Fallout 4!

... Do I sound convinced?

I hate when that kind of shit happens.

Ugh, I can recently recall getting accosted by paranoid, pretentious nutjobs who hate falling into the sight of my smartphone camera in a crowded public space (even if they're a small slightly smudged figure in the corner of panoramic photo). I've gotten more wary about taking photos with people in them, respecting their consent and privacy up to a certain point, but sometimes some people take the piss and it becomes the 2010s version of "Wut da fuk da yer tink yer lookin' at?!".

Well, the house now officially belongs to someone else. So that's one obstacle out of the way.

Ah, recruiters. "We have exciting opportunities in Glasgow!" - no thanks, I prefer to stay un-shanked. "Come and work for us at <megacorp>!" - I might've, if I wasn't already working as a contractor for another branch of your company.

Bless 'em for trying, though.

At this stage I'm more likely to get the elder daughter riding shotgun for some fully sick slides, but the boy would come around eventually.

Little Caesars has discontinued their pretzel crust pizza.

Why did I come back to this country? There's nothing left for me here.
