as a westerner i'm already a parasite on a bunch of countries' labour

so being a parasite on other first worlders' labour isn't really a sticking point for me

If you want to be optimistic about it, it could mean that you can now target the ter'rists and just them and not have to bomb a whole funeral procession/wedding ceremony in order to try to kill a specific guy with your drone.
At the least I expect Israel to show an interest in this system.

(Edit : to be clear, any weapon that can allow for the reduction of collateral damage and the preservation of Civilian lives during a conflict is a good thing in my book. You know, surgical strikes and all that jazz...)
I seriously doubt we'll see this adopted for the next few decades. Budgets are dropping across the first world for defence, we certainly won't adopt it. But most of us already have the means to limit causalities but don't because it takes to long.

which would be better: for mr bean to be able to write coherently, or to think coherently

Bean is a hilariously terrible liar, especially when he's trying to cover up his motives. I used to tangle with him in the mod forum about Testing, and I'd watch in amazement as he tried to pass off one imaginary or unrelated crisis after another as a reason to oppress it.

What was the issue with testing anyways?

Is goofing off some terrible crime against logic or something?

I think it was some combination of this lofty arrogant view of the board as a Serious Debate Board (The Smartest Board on the Internet/Intellectual Crucible) and goofing off in Testing being incompatible with that view (I can understand that viewpoint because once upon a time I shared it; somewhere in the depths of the HOS is a post by me flaming Straha for complaining "The playground is closed, boo hoo"), and a personal bug-up-the-ass on the part of a handful of the mods and, later, Senators. Somewhere along the way it morphed from "Testing is silly and dumb and not worthy of this august instutution" to "The certain clique that hangs out in Testing is a bunch of troublemakers who want to turn the rest of this august institution silly and dumb."

Now of course it's totally self-perpetuating.

It's so sad. People take themselves too seriously. If you can't laugh at yourself, what can you laugh at?

it's an interesting thing when you see people who are like that

because (well...unless they're like thanas or summat :smug: ) people don't just stop being silly when a group they're a part of decides that silliness is not to be tolerated

but instead of just letting the stupid crap out of their heads naturally and usually relatively inoffensively

they tend to look for approved avenues for it

in short

they become tryhards

they'd best not read about my plot to buy mike out!!!!!!!!!!

if i had four million dollars i'd do it. offer him like a nice four figure sum

(less than that and i'd prolly have better things to put the money toward and would regret wasting it)

but i can't tell how much of his obviously wrong poppycock is deliberate

he is quite stupid you know

everyone was all "the infection is spreading to the main board :duchess: "

you think this is weird

but i know people who's made five figure sales of fucking domain names

one guy bought a .com name for $10 in 2007.

the very next month, he gets a letter from a lawyer offering him $5,000 for it

he said "make it seven and done"

yeah he profited 6990 over one month.

one of my clients once made a 15,000 dollar domain name sale

holy shit why can't this happen to me
