I think it's not so much racism, so much as it is their own definition of American. They'd probably all jump behind Herman Cain or Colon Powell, because they fit their definition of American. Obama (and liberals) doesn't fit that definition.

"Who is American?" is a question that's ballsing up American society.

well, for another thing, he advocated diplomacy and containment before dropping bombs on people, he thinks that the 1973 intervention in chile was unconscionable, he internally opposed iraq, criticized bush after leaving the administration, and admitted that bush lied about wmds after leaving

The contrast between the relative sanity of the non-Americans in that thread compared to the Americans is pretty delicious.

Actually sanity may not be the right way to describe it. It looks like there are a number of people there that are rational within their psychic reality. They look insane because the world they live in does not resemble ours.

That Slade fellow though, from what I see of him in TEO and TBO I don't think he's so much a wingnut as the lowest kind of panderer to whatever audience he's in front off. A guy that needs that much validation from lines of text on a screen should not be taken seriously.

The funny thing was how the spoken truth of Obama's impending victory simply shut down the thread. The same person had to post again with an implied complaint over how quickly the media called it to make the bitchfest start, despite predicting that would happen.
