Personal experience ?
You could say that.
When I went to work for a major supermarket over ten years ago they played us all sorts of training videos about why stealing from your drawer is a bad idea and you'll get caught. Modern supermarkets have cameras covering every checkouts to monitor theft on both side.

As for the whole 'you take a lot of shit from people', that exactly why everyone should work a job like that at least once. It might actually disincline your average punter from behaving like a cunt.

In the last fifteen years I've delivered pizza, worked a supermarket checkout, worked on hotel reception and now in hotel management. Delivering pizza was the best in terms of customer satisfaction. What a shame the pay is so ordinary.

Except they couldn't actually prove I took money from the till, (I didn't, if I wanted to take money I would've waited until the till was at its fullest, grabbed everything and ran), or else they would've pressed charges on the spot. It was an ugly mess all around.

All it did was leave me a seething hatred for retail and humanity in general. Ymmv. :sun:

ah, fair enough, that sounds like a pretty poisonous workplace atmosphere anyway

I can speak well of kitchenhand work. The chefs push you, and you're constantly at the bottom of the ladder. But upon taking it, and not quitting, you feel good about yourself. My marks went up at uni considerably once I started working.

It's like customer service, but all of your customers are chefs and such. You'll quickly be able to tell who was a kitchen hand.

I'll second kitchen-work as a huge step up from cashiering.

Huge fundraiser being rolled out tomorrow morning and I have no copy to put on the event pages. WORK WITH ME PEOPLE

Optimistically looking at making $30k on this. Going to have the Premier there. Most of Cabinet. Probably the biggest thing I've done, yet.

It's gonna fuck up.

My mom is going to London to see a play with Stephen Fry next Wednesday. She didn't ask me because she didn't know if it'd be my sort of thing.

Stephen "most entertaining man on Earth" Fry.

Sometimes I wonder if we don't talk enough.

Alright, can anyone tell me why the board software still tells me I can't post a picture because of pixel limits even after I've resized the pic to below the limit and then waited until the next day (while shutting down my computer for the night and while I'm at work)?

I'm sure you don't mean that Bounty's mum is going to 'cure' Stephen Fry

But does this have the potential to turn into a Belgian episode of Archer?

What FROD means is; When you said 'Your mum is going to see a play with Stephen Fry'. Did you mean, 'is she going to see a play in the company of Stephen Fry?' which if you're going to be pedantic is what you said. Presumably you meant 'your mum is going to see a play with Stephen Fry in it.' ie a play where stephen fry is performing as an actor.

So Bounts is your mum friends with Stephen Fry or not, because I'm unclear on that.

are you really unclear or are you just running a semi-amusing joke as far into the ground as you can?
