So I tried Platinum today. The first time, I think one of the guys on my team somehow had his character hacked to use unlimited rockets, 'cause he fired of like twenty of them, and we lost.
The second time, I accidentally came in on wave seven with a level 1 solder after I promoted my previous one. Somehow, we won, I shot all the way up to level 11 and made 60,000 credits.

It was rather daunting to hear the screams of three banshees on wave one.
Especially since we were fighting Geth

So is anyone up for giving Platinum a shot this weekend? If we complete all the objectives, it's 120,000 credits in the bag.

Dumb question, but is it possible to achieve 100% readiness ? Or is it an asymptotic curve ?

Um, yeah it is. Just do multiplayer until everything hits 100%. At that level it goes down like 5% a day though so you can't keep it unless you play constantly,

But does having 100% readiness allow a non-shitty ending ?

Maybe. I'm pretty burned out on it.

rabid 100% readiness doesn't do anything but double your ems score, it doesn't affect the endings by itself

So, apart from 1337 bragging rights, what does it offer to the player ?
(note I haven't played ME3 so I don't know what the "EMS" score is)

If you get all the war assets and 75% readiness, you get an achievement.

Whoop-dee-doo.
So it basically bring nothing to the game then ? Apart from maybe some guns and gizmos you can win during MP events ?

yeah but you can't use those in singleplayer.

You need an effective EMS of like 3750 or something to get the 'best' endings. Your effective EMS is one half of your war assets. This percentage is based on galactic readiness. At 100% galactic readiness, you get 100% of your war assets to EMS.
That's all the percentage means, basically. It's for people who don't want to go running around milling the SP campaign for every possible point, or whatever. MP progress affects all SP profiles in the future, too. Also, promoting your Multi classes from 20 to 1 gives you like 25 or 75 war asset points every time you do it.
Multiplayer is otherwise "pointless," unless you enjoy it for its own sake, i.e milling for new/better gear/classes, levelling, build theory, you just enjoy ME3 space magic guns, etcetera.

Five, with three 2-choice branches per power, and not enough points to fill them all out.
We could talk about how meaningful these choices are, but I wouldn't want to bore you
with build theory

So it looks like they're giving us an easy goal this weekend. Get an extraction on any difficulty level with one player using one of the new N7 characters from the earth pack.
The allied goal is to safely extract 800,000 individual players on any difficulty.

So here's some things:
1) Overwatch met its goal 3 times over, so victory packs for errbody
2) Typhoon's ramped up damage bonus got taken from 200% of normal to 150%
3) Devastator mode's base ROF bonus went from 15% to 10%
4) Indra got buffed a good amount, Pull got huge buffs to just about every aspect but still doesn't make it all that useful at gold or platinum
5) Shield gating on gold and platinum has been reduced from 100% to 90%

My destroyer+typhoon didn't even notice the difference.
I also got the N7 Paladin for the 4th time. I don't actually want the N7 Paladin, I've never wanted the N7 Paladin, I want the god damned space ninja, but no, I've now maxed the costume options for the N7 Paladin.

So I got the N7 Shadow in my Victory pack today. Maybe i'll try it out this weekend. I don't really like the power-based classes though.
