It's pretty weird to post an openly anti Semitic screed on your facebook, probably.

It's sad that the guy is probably totally oblivious to it.

I called smug atheist when I read the first lines
but what we have here instead is possibly even more hilarious

I love how openly stating your belief that religion is dumb makes you a smug atheist but openly stating your belief that only through Christ can you avoid eternal torture just makes you a moderate Christian.

I'd rather be a smug atheist any day of the week.

well of course
I think most people here (especially the ones going 'lol smugtheism') are various forms of atheist (and also vaguely leftish), so when other atheists are being assholes it feels... disappointing? Obviously that's silly, since atheism isn't a group with any beliefs beyond 'don't believe in god', but I think that's why we focus on that stuff.
'Jews killed Jesus' is a racist wolf-whistle, I don't know how I missed that...

I just watched / listened Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" videoclip
And is it just me or does the video contradict the theme of the lyrics in a big way ?
hmm
I'll probably go see that film, don't know about 3D though - I tend to find that actions movies are the worst ones to watch in 3D.

The Hobbit was pretty good in 3D.

The last PoTC one had decent 3D, it wasn't blatantly obvious at least.

I generally only like 3D is when it's on big, fairly still landscape shots
The otherwise-forgettable Sanctum had some really great aerial shots of this huge cave in the middle of the Amazon, and the 3D really gave it a majestic sense of depth

Did anyone here see TPM in 3d? I didn't, TPM is far from my favorite Star Wars film, and I always told myself i'd go see the other ones, but now that the 3d re-releases have been cancelled i'm curious as to how a Star Wars film holds up in 3d

Nah, It would take more then 3d to get me to watch TPM again.

I was going to wait for RotS to start watching the 3d movies. TPM and AotC were great fun when I was a kid, but RotS is the only prequel movie that I felt had any substance to it.

The only way I'll watch TPM again is at gunpoint

Not sure what you mean by that.

It's a pun.
TPM was awful in 3D. And not for any of the normal reasons, I mean the conversion looked terrible.

so i actually kinda think tpm is the best of the prequels
i'm not even bullshitting, last time i tried to watch them, tpm was the only one that felt like a movie (if a bad one) rather than boring boredom.
atoc was almost complete snooze except for some nice background pictures on naboo and that one line i lol'd at when obi wan said "good job" after anakin said "we came to rescue you" while chained up. hah.
rots, i still can't even give you an outline of what scenes were there, despite now having seen the film three times. it just feels disjointed and the parts i remember most vividly are the bad parts, like samuel l. jackson's godawful performance when he fights palpatine.
tpm is a boring, bad film.... but at least it had the pod race (more enticing than any battle scene in the prequels) and it feels a bit more like a movie than just a collection of stuff
you know what i mean?

story wise, I remember all the prequel SW movies to have been awful and boring.
the only one I felt wasn't a complete snooze-fest was Revenge of the Sith, because it had the best pew-pews (the spaceship battle over Coruscant is the highlight of the movie for me). The rest is meh. Especially the shitty romance.

The novelisation for RotS was like a billion times better than the actual film. The fucking novelisation. How fucked up does your film have to be when some shitty tie-in licenced fiction is better at telling the story you failed to tell?
I don't know which prequel film is the worst, I hate them all with a burning passion that keeps me warm during the winter months.

I don't care much about the prequels either way, but they were definitely a really wasted potential. Especially ROTS. The fall of Anakin should have been greek tragedy stuff, but bluch
