It might even be illegal depending on what part of town he lived in

Whitney Houston for example.
And you don't think there's going to be a difference in the impact to the kid between 'take away the laptop' and 'violently blast the laptop to shit'? Yes, the end result, not having a laptop is the same but it doesn't mean the impact of the kid is the same in both cases.

Take away the laptop sure. Permantly if it is, as the video's suggested a repeated offense.

I won't even pretend to be a gun person. But isn't just blasting away in your lawn a bit of reckless thing to do?

Note I never defended the use of the gun.

But really, watching a video of a laptop getting shot to bits and think "OMG SCARY" is fucking stupid. Note that we have people in that thread who are apparently Child Psychiatrists (degrees from University of Internet) who think that taking away the laptop on its own is an unforgiveable thing to do.

And then there is Terralthra who, having dodged a bullet by refusing to answer a certain question in the Loli thread, is just stupider than the ass crust on a dead steer.

I don't really have a problem with the gun. It's just another way of destroying it; same as if he used a hammer or his bare hands.

I think Dragon Angel just has an existing view of guns that is coloring things.

its just as likely you do

by using a gun it immediately becomes 'gun crime' and more serious in heaps of countries

hammers don't put bystanders at risk from ricochets or the like

ofc i haven't actually watched the video to know how safe his gun handling was

Well the laptop was on the ground and he was firing down into at close range. So I don't think much in the way of ricochets were likely.

Yeah probably fine, the round would have pancaked on the first hard surface hit, so even had he been shooting from the side it should be fine.

FMJ would present a greater risk then what he used.
