It is useful, the rule isn't invalidated because of exceptions and I forgot that.

California is expensive, recommend Oregon. Good donuts there too.
i was thinking more east coast

right now i'm looking at boston and chicago the most (okay, technically it's not an ocean for chicago but close enough)

True fact: my current position was advertised as "3-5 years of relevant insurance industry experience required"

Actual relavant insurance industry experience: two months in a call center hounding retirees to prove their dependents were entitled to be on their insurance plans.

Not only did I get the job, I got promoted after like 3 months.

EDIT: It probably helps that health care bureaucracy is like the only industry in this country that's actually growing.

regardless of the requirements just go for it. The worst that will happen is they say no.

I figure I can manage that for most office related jobs, but it's harder when you haven't had much practical experience in an area outside a classroom :v

the double truth of this is that after the first 50 nos you won't even care anymore

people being really set on individual jobs or individual applications instead of seeing them as a process based on probability is why they get so stressed about it beforehand and so depressed afterward

don't look at it as the oen applciation that will change your career, where this one is the big one

look at it as an engine for changing career that runs on applications

So this will open me up to laughs for the less naive but here goes anyway, because...well because Fuck Peter Molyneux and Fuck Lionhead.

Despite their flaws I really liked Fable: Lost Chapters, and Fable II. They were great for the money I spent, fast forward to Fable III

So it was a very short game, there wasn't as much excitement in the gameplay since your character really couldn't die, repairing houses took way too long, game way too short yadda yadda.

It was also the glitchiest game I have ever purchased, fucking abysmal, but I avoided most of the bad ones and made it to the end. I had the opportunity to play the DLC for free so I did, because it didn't take more than one fairly short playthrough either. The "arena" in this game had a few glitches with it where if your save file was created before the DLC it created an issue on some files but I managed to avoid that. Then the second round of DLC came out and I had the opportunity to play it for free, so I did so again, hoping that it would sort of "finish" the game and at least provide a real finish to the game. Parts good parts bad fast forward to the end and I want to pick up some acheivements, play multi with a younger brother who has the game etc...rampant disappointment.

The worst of this shit though, apparently when you download the newer of the two DLC packs, you make the first DLC unplayable. Trying to enter Reaver's arena with the later pack installed causes you to be trapped in the game and forced to revert to an earlier save if you still have one and didnt make the mistake of saving while in that room, thus trapping yourself and making your file crap. To my knowledge, no patch released. So now kid is forced to replay the game and uninstall content that was paid for just to play, assuming he will even do so.

So for anyone who reads this, is this par for the course for Lionhead? Releasing an unfinished game that requires DLC to make it even close to complete certainly is but the number of game breaking and other assorted glitches seemed unusually high.

well there was one quest in fable 2 that i couldn't complete thanks to a glitch where the npc i needed to talk to to finish the quest was hovering about 20 feet in the air

as a result you couldn't talk to him

(it was the quest with the dead noble woman some frankenstein wannabe was sewing back together)

I remember that one, that glitch hit a lot of people, but at least it didn't kill the ability to finish the game. Still necrophilia if she's brought back to life? :giggidy:

...huh. EA customer service finally managed to solve the issue with ME2 DLC I complained about months back. I had pretty much given up hope, but ultimately they just gave me the stuff back without even asking for any verification about the purchases. All I needed to do was swear at them, call them barely literate yahoos, call Origin a piece of shit, and threaten them with asking my bank to do a charge back on the payments.

Lesson of the day: Being an obnoxious asshole gets you better service :P

i actually find that in general, if you make a stand on something, a lot of people will back off. works with customer service or contract negotiations or landlords and all kinds of stuff a surprising number of times

nah man i'm the even keel

that's the benefit of not having either 1. a recent death in the family or b. being unhealthily infatuated with a series of crazy self-harming ex girlfriends

the runner-up to me in buddha-like repose right now is the girl who cried when she thought she might get less than 100% in a course
