So long as you know you're being really I'M A JUGGALO WOOP WOOP

Violent seizure of power is often followed by the destruction of the truth of that seizure

Thn you jut have to write a family friendly biography and dumbasses will decide it was all fine

but seriously every fact in there that i've checked ended up matching facts from independent sources

sooooo there's really no reason to believe these things are lies

that's the problem here. if he got facts wrong it'd be easy to say "people lie lol"

if he was saying objectionable things, it'd be easy to say "third world dictator is a monster. whoknew?"

but it isn't any of those things

he comes across as a reasonable human being with sincere concerns about the environment and freedom

at the same time though america hates his guts

there has to be a reason for that

castro says it is because the rich capitalists in control want to use other countries for their own profit and power games

basically america hates cuba for their freedom which can inspire other states to stand up for themselves against american business interests

which is plausible

but i recognize fidel castro is a biased source so i'm not just taking his word for it

it's possible for people to hold both good and fucked up opinions at the same time

Obviously castro won't talk about how his state capitalism was established and how it is maintained in articles about climate change or whatever. Although we can also note that since he is not a major industrial nation dependent on destroying the environment for profit, he can afford to hold reasonable opinions on these matters.

Whereas if you asked him on things like whether people should have a right to assemble freely, he will probably say "yes, BUT counter-revolutionaries, US agitators etc. etc.".

and yeah comparing chavez to castro or ahmadinejad is pretty funny, but hey he has control over parts of the us' oil supply so gotta demonise him so we can killfuck him without too much protests

So ADR, are you saying that, like, if America does not like Cuba

it's basically because

the US hate their Freedom ?

Oh the irony

king george said
“They hate our freedom, our freedom of religion, our freedom to vote and assemble and disagree with one another.”
“You are either with us or with the terrorists.”
no george

you are the terrorists

and then bush killed thousands of people

to be fair, the empire's evils don't actually negate the dictator's evils

True, but scale does matter a fair deal. Norway kills a handful of whales every year, but their military and citizens don't try to excuse one of their soldiers going apeshit crazy and murdering a dozen innocent civilians in a warzone.

Seriously? Who's trying to excuse it?

Nobody I've talked to in real life seems to think there was anything excusable, and the editorials I've read are much more on the: "Wow, this guy went nuts hard. Why?"

That latter type of discussion is very common after a violent act. I seem to recall it after the child camp (still think that sounds like a wierd thing, but translation ftw.) murders.

just go to any news article talking about it

plenty of people seem to think it's not really such a big deal because they've killed a bunch of our soldiers
