@ liek 6:00

in 2009, iran made a universal healthcare system

govt insurance to all

sweet

i wish america would do that. dr. ahmadinejad, civil engineer, said to cbs "I am very saddened to hear that [...] 45 million people don't have a health care cover. That is very sad to hear."

btw that youtube is STATE RUN MEDIA from the iranian government called presstv

from wikipedia:
The network's official vision is "to heed the voices and perspectives of the people of the world; build bridges of cultural understanding; encourage human beings of different nationalities, races and creeds to identify with one another; bring to light untold and overlooked stories of individuals who have experienced political and cultural divides firsthand."[5] Sarafraz explained that "our experience tells us that pictorial reflection of news and the use of images are more effective than discussion and analysis."
in other words it is iranian government propaganda

they say "build bridges"

but what they really mean is "show regular americans that iranians are people too so maybe they won't kill us"

...not the worst plan i've ever heard

anyway so they mentioned this health house thingy and said some mississippi folks wanted to copy it

http://www.fic.nih.gov/News/GlobalHealt ... house.aspx

jawesome. i wonder how it is turning out tho. having a hard time finding a follow up story

tho from another (american) source:
Shirley and Miller visited Iran in May and were astonished to be welcomed with open arms. When they went to remote villages to see the health houses, the Iranians were equally amazed.

“They told us this is a miracle,” said Miller. “Not only were Americans coming here, but also they were learning from us rather than telling us what to do.”
i love it

Dude wants to do a SW vs. Star Blazers debate, so he pits the Yamato against a ship ten times its size with more than twice fighter complement. Nope, no bias there.........

Dude the level of analysis is 'the fix the ship after battle ergo no armour or defences' :v

The sad thing is shroom that the guy who made that thread is probably 12

But now it's not about him, it's about chest beating bullshit where a super ship can destroy a floating shipwreck FROM LIGHTMMINUTES AWAY

Btw shroom I would like to talk to you one day about some movies

Also whoever recommended fountain thanks for that it was awesome

The first scene is very nice

I pretty much accepted that the Yamato is invincible due to writer bias when they took on 4 gamilon carriers and won.

i saw the later half or two thirds of it on TV and i quite liked it

i had no idea what it was when i happened on it while channel surfing, but somehow someway it glued me

i must rewatch it

its really something different from the kinds of movies we see today

the way they compose their films

its so understated

yet its there

Vertigo superficially doesn't make much sense and is unsatisfying

But it's actually really awesome

The business where someone creates a fake person for someone who then makes someone else into someone else and tragedies

Like ideas of identity and expectation and how much we project into others
