I can still run the game on my PC for a little nostalgic fun, but unfortunatly the FMV's are fucked up and play in fast-forward.

Speaking of old-school star wars games, does anyone remember the old "super star wars" games for SNES? I recently re-played those on an emulator, and the boss fight against the Emperor in Super Return of the Jedi was fucking impossible. He shoots out un-blockable force lightning that destroys the terrain and creates a risk of falling while flying around the screen at angles that make him nigh-impossible to hit.

The boss fight against him in TFU was an amateur showing in comparison

I found him to be pretty easy. But then I was a cheating bastard with invincibility and unlimited thermal detonators. :smug:

I never could fly the Millenium Falcon out of the Death Star tunnels, though. :(

Oh god that level was a bitch too. I think you'd get overtaken by the flames and destroyed if you so much as hit the walls once.

Thus statement makes sense without it actually having to be some huge slice if government money

Just like in the real not teo world
Also, did Palps ever seem like a fiscally responsible sort of guy? I doubt some sort of government accountant is going to convince him to spend more money on shit that isn't superweapons and the military.

oh so i n that thread i mentioned the gulf of tonkin incident

you might want to take a gander at that if you heard about it in school

in 2005 a nsa report was declassified which tells us....

..... the second "attack" that was used to bring us into vietnam never actually happened

and in the first "attack" the americans likely shot first

over and over again people have FUCKING LIED to get this country into war

i think you will find that is the case for every war ever

turns out people don't want to go to war for the real, economic reasons because they don't sound very glorious

did you for instance hear that gaddafi did not in fact give free viagra to his mercenaries so they could rape women better? i know, it's shocking such a ludicrous claim would turn out to be propaganda

no that is too broad of a claim to make

what about ww2 where we went there to save the jews from nazi oppression that was the result of a single evil man not at all shaped by our actions or other circumstances and the japanese caught us by surprise and totally unprovoked with their attack on pearl harbor????

dont u dare insult the GREATEST GENERATION

did you for instance hear that gaddafi did not in fact give free viagra to his mercenaries so they could rape women better? i know, it's shocking such a ludicrous claim would turn out to be propaganda
why do you hate NATO????????

The only funny part is that Americans keep falling for it and sending poor people to die so rich people can be rich

no no didn't you hear ww2 was to save polish sovereignty, which is why poland was given away to the russians after war ds

german takeover of east and south european markets in the preceding years due to various post-depression and ww1 policies had nothing to do with it

good thing we later found out the nazis were actually batshit insane so we could ignore some circumstances that might otherwise have turned people to the idea that dying and killing fellow workers in the interests of big capital is bullshit

On SSD vs. the Yamato:

I predict the SSD will drop out of hyperspace in the sol system, looking all menacing and mysterious and shit. The EDF will send their fleet against it, only for all the newer, more advanced ships to be easily destroyed in the battle. Then the crew of the Yamato will challenge it head on and win through FIGHTING SPIRITtm while sustaining damage that easily destroyed the other ships.

i just had a realization

so u know how they said "amuerikkka had to nuke the people of japan b/c it would be less costly in lives than an invasion of the home islands"

i used to actually accept that

but it ignores option #3

don't kill japanese people in their homes at all

of course it was a series of immoral aggression and exploitation that led to that point of the war in the first place and it shouldn't have happened

but once you're there u gotta do something to end the war right?

well ummmm the japanese were pretty well defeated at that point

sooo couldn't we end the war by just, u kno, ending the war?

all too often the moneyed elite present things as an either or

i realized this is not the case in one area many years ago: employment

they say "we must find jobs for all the people or they will live in squalor/laziness/whatever!!!11!!11!!"

but there's a third option: decouple employment from living

obviously the bourgeoisie are against this tho (for the workers anyway)

there's a third option in that war too. it isn't just "kill a lot of japanese with a land invasion" or "kill a lot of japanese with the atomic bomb"

we could also..... not kill a lot of japanese

i should post this on teo and see what sea skimmer and mksheppard have to flame!

Dude that's why people laugh at guys who say that

The whole dilemma was a false one created by the military to present their favored option as the only decent one

If you post they'll just say either nukes required to unlock surrender or blockade cause huge deaths anyway

But hey assloads of civilians had already been killed in basically unopposed firebombing of cities so y'know
