I don't really care about how little sense it makes for North Korea to go and do anything stupid. It all rests on the assumption that their leader hasn't bought his own propaganda.

i saw a thing saying they want to reorganize their economy but need to shrink the military to do it and thus are using nukes to enable that kinda like the united states did in the later 1950's

1/ I -really- am spamming shit everywhere in this place it seems
2/ it's funny how after having left the place for a few month and lost quite a number of his posts, Stak is still fourth in this list.

in that time before, my post per day was about 4.7. since then it has fallen to about 2.6
but anyway my main point is simply:

I'm stupidly excited about a goddamn municipal election. It's not even mayoral, it's the primary for our city council's at-large seats. Also the Lancaster county party starts the election night party for both the primary and general an hour before the polls close. Dumb.

What's hilarious is that thanks to citizens united our election is getting flooded with money from outside organizations trying to get our incumbent knocked out. No idea how effective it's being but our other two candidates are really popular and we only need two of the three to win in order to keep our majority. Mayor is a democrat too so things are looking good.

Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance
Just turned a 2.5-3 hour drive into a 4 hour trek thru freezing rain and blinding snow. Ugh. It was foggy af driving south towards the end and started the freezing rain in the city north of Calgary, was rain most of the day in Calgary, and then was heavy freezing rain when I left (a little late, at 9). Took me only 2.5 hours to get there because I had a VW Rabbit as a rabbit ahead of me doing 140 the whole way; took 4 hours coming home because I was doing 50-80 on a highway marked for 110. Lanes weren't clear of snow at all in some sections, my car floated thru them. Was spooky.
Not as bad as my worst drive down QE2 tho. That was last summer, went down for an event that ended early because Calgarians suck; the drive home, I decided to do at 11pm instead of the next day like I planned. Thunderstorms with such heavy rain that I couldn't see the road, my car floated on the water in sections it was so thick, couldn't see a damn thing unless lightning was striking (which was like 80 flashes a minute for a long time). That 2.5 hour drive became 6.5, including a 45 minute nap in Red Deer because I was tired and the storm was too heavy.
This was second worst tho, easy.

I have become adr.
I am playing the Warcraft II Campaign.
For the first time*
*Well okay, first time without using cheat codes because I was a total wuss about this game when I was a young'un.
And I lost everything except two footmen and a pair of archers on the Grim Batol mission. The one where you have to fight your way to a town area. And I literally can't win against the remaining cannon towers and Ogres with what I have left.

Warcraft II may be my favorite game of all time (except maybe Conquest: Frontier War), and I still love its music more than almost any modern game's.RogueIce wrote:I have become adr.

Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance
I never actually played the war2 campaign. I got it only for multiplayer (and barely actually played it since we only had the one computer...)
Fun fact: when I bought warcraft two, I didn't even have a computer yet! I saw the war2 battle.net edition for $10 at the Staples one day and figured I'd better get it now. Not uncommon for me, I got Chrono Trigger before having a super Nintendo (and my first one was actually a snes circuit board I put in a shoe box and called my system), Lunar: SSSC before getting a playstation, and Perfect Dark before getting a n64 as well.
I saw or played all those games briefly at friends' houses and when I had an opportunity to get them, decided to take it. Totally worth it.
But as it worked out, I got an old computer just a couple months after and played some single player against the computer, but never did the campaign mode.
but yeah the music was great, the multiplayer great... the vs computer skirmish was ok. The computer would always seem to play too well and beat me fast or too stupid and get its army stuck on a mountain, or fail to build a navy on the island maps, etc., and provide no challenge at all. StarCraft did a much better job on that. (and I did play the SC campaign. with cheat codes.)
