Well I watched some of the new nostalgia critic. A review of Pearl Harbour. With added non-review scenes of micheal bay's career. So i guess its intended as a blend of NC and demo reel.

It's ok I guess but i have to wonder if the parallels between the eviews decription of bay's careers and the nostalgia critic finishing and restarting are intentional or just ironic.

I actually felt bad for "Michael Bay" during that whole bomb scene where he had to carry the DVDs around. I don't know why but I did. Doug Walker can do drama when he cares to.

Granted "Porn it!" was pretty over the top but I actually liked the sketches for the most part. It wasn't the usual Bay-bashing, he actually seemed to be making him a sympathetic character who was honestly trying. Which goes back to one of the themes of The Review Must Go On and Critic's purgatory.

And holy shit I'm overthinking this I need to stop now.

For the review itself, it did make me realize something I hadn't considered before for some reason. The attack on Pearl Harbor is by and large remembered for the attack on the Navy ships. The other services got bombed too but it's pretty much remembered as a Navy thing.

And two out of the three leads are Army Air Corps pilots?

That's like a fundamental fail right there.

Most war movies generally pick their characters from the service that was most involved with whatever the movie is about. Or have a larger main cast if there's a strong multiservice story going on.

The only time I've been completely trashed was on half a bottle of old monk rum. No vomiting, but I did manage to drop a log in the toilet without remembering it later, and somehow stumbled my way to bed and pass out.

There is something to be said for getting really drunk once just to be sure where your tolerance is.

Plus it did get me through the 70+ page recap of the Battle of Waterloo in Les Miserables. Other than that, I remember feeling this overwhelming urge to tell people about Walker: Texas Ranger and all the deep lessons contained therein.
