ps. it's not choreographed, there are 12 basic strikes and 7 groupings and each grouping has multiple variation, and there's a defensive response to each strike and each group, but the guy "giving" can choose whichever strike or group he gives at his leisure and it's up to the guy on the receiving end to do the defense

I'm starting to worry that the danger in the field of AI research isn't the AIs themselves but the people programming them - specifically the fact that they are bonkers, if Starglider himself and his anecdotes about others working on the field are true.
They seems to have a bit too much faith in what they do. I mean, I'm not one to usually talk about Hubris in Science and "playing God", but in this case...
This may sound like a no-true scotsman fallacy, but Starglider was never really doing real AI research.
Starglider was in the business of selling a con about pure-website business automation (ie not touching real-world constraints, and thus a useless system) before moving to the financial world where morally bankrupt programers can make actual money. Real AI research isn't an implementation you are trying to sell to gullable venture capitalists to fund it's development.
There is a very good reason CompSci/AI research is the dominion of large universities with secure funding via other channels. It's a massive money sink an rarely gives useful information for decades if it ever does.

yeah. with beginners you start off with doing things in order, all basic, and when they know how to move, you can go all random and string stuff together or even whip up some new stuff that - with the understanding of the basics - the recipient will be able to answer
we call it "agak", which translates to "holding/supporting", and the guy doing the giving is practicing his offensive strikes and groupings while the recipient is practicing his defenses
there's an element of control there too
anyway, here's a good video for balintawak-style eskrima

you know, dalton, thanas, etc., it really makes you guys look like idiots when somebody like nitram, who blatantly is conducting a vendetta against adr with his posts- he pretty obviously just said all that shit about kucinich because adr brought it up
you get mad at all the mockery, but when shit like this happens- you deserve every little bit of it. every single bit.

It was a couple of years ago when he actually described what his "AI" business was. He shutup about it soon after, and was quite defensive about it. It included claims that such a system would make the drudgery of creating an eshop-front and shoping cart would go away by the magic of AI.
Rather than say eBay who basicly provides a near complete package for selling goods on ebay(including basic stock tracking), or the zillions and one free quite cheap plugins which do the same for Wordpress.

I'm not sure how much of it would be utterly worthless technobabble and how much of it would of it would be breathless claims with no substance to them (which are largely technobable free to boot!).

strap your guitar across your back, ride your bike to a sylvan meadow, and play until your fingers bleed. it'll be good times and i'm sure, um, someone will mind the store for a couple a days.

what came to my mind was him describing his... christmas? present from his wife as a my little pony costume she would wear as part of their sexual escapades:

A little plastic toy or a custom plushie?
The toy, but she also made herself a sexy fluttershy costume out of some spare fur and wings we had. Apparently she picked that character because that was the colour we had spare and 'she looked fun to roleplay'. Alas, she won't let me take pictures of her in any of the not-approved-for-public-places costumes.
I also received Ace Combat 7, which turned out to be junk, Skyrim, which I haven't played yet, and assorted DVDs, articles of clothing and sweets. Last year I gave my close family tablet PCs; this year I gave everyone three large tins of Mountain House 30-year freeze dried food. The supplier told me that he was getting a lot of orders from City of London financial people this year.
oh yeah also him buying freeze dried food for his family, forgot about that

standing in the rain with his head hung low
couldn't get a ticket it was a sold-out show
heard the roar of the crowd he could picture the scene
put his ear to the wall then like a distant scream
he heard one guitar just blew him away
he saw stars in his eyes and the very next day
bought a beat up six string in a secondhand store
didn't know how to play it but he knew for sure
that one guitar felt good in his hands
didn't take long to understand
that one guitar slung way down low
was a one-way ticket only one way to go
so he started rockin'
ain't never gonna stop
gotta keep on rockin'
someday he's gonna make it to the top
and be a juke box hero got stars in his eyes
he's a juke box hero
he took one guitar
juke box hero stars in his eyes
juke box hero he'll come alive tonight
