Yeah but with Chocs it's not exactly a dialogue. At best you get more insight into his feelings, which I guess is superior to just yelling at him, but his ability to tune out everything he doesn't want to believe is pretty amazing.

Chocs is just annoying when he's trolling, otherwise he's an OK guy. Dumb, but OK. Marina is more entertaining. Mostly because she's not an idiot even when she says idiotic things. Which is less frequent these days.

I'm surprised people still react in the usual way to Marina, even after she admitted that she just says whatever she thinks will get a reaction during the old boys senate debacle.

Intellectual crucible.

Because no matter how correct they may be, you may be assured that people will usually be holding their beliefs for kneejerk reasons rather than sincerely thought out ones, so instead of providing rational objections, will flip out and get angry when asked to think about what they believe... Even though if they didn't flip out, they could easily rationally justify it.

Two more weeks and I'm out of this shithole. Can't wait to get back to civilization.

Well, just got done. 10:45 is better than 1:30, right?

The day turned out to be very exciting, from a personal and professional standpoint.

So, the morning after going to a Rammstein concert.

Lots of explosions, fire and screams.

That was good.

I hate everybody in my buidling. Fucking feckless marketeer hipsters. Hsven't had an intelligent conversation in two months.

While going to work just after eating lunch, I saw an old man looking to be in his mid-sixties, collapsed on a bench next to the supermarket's parking lot, unmoving.

Worried that he might be slightly deceased, I went up to him, and asked i he was okay.

The guy shot up, looking straight at me, drool dripping from his mouth.

"S'okay ! Er'thing is good ! There's no problem !"

That's when I saw that there was an open brick of cheap red wine right next to him on the bench.

And he kept repeating that "there's no problem, there's no problem"

Seeing he was alive and I'm not a model citizen, I acknowledged him, told him to have a good day, and went my way.

"there's no problem"

I am not quite convinced...

Not much you personally can do in that situation. But you checked on him when most people would have ignored him, and that is something to be praised.

in my brain universe there's a public service announcement that shows some problem and a bunch of people see it and say "i'm sure somebody will take care of it"

and the problem never gets solved and it ends with the voice over saying "that somebody is YOU"

What shocked me is that he kept repeating "There's no problem"

Even as I was going away to catch my tram, on the other side of the street, he kept repeating at my attention, almost screaming "There's no problem ! Everything is fine !"

It was, like... Some kind of drunken mantra of reality-denying. As if someone kept repeating that "2 + 2 = 5" and deluded themselves into thinking it was true and correct, and trying to convince others that they were right...

I dunno...

I hate how drugs can destroy the weakest members of society.

How hard is it to understand that having a field that is not editable present with a drop down that changes IS A BUG!!!

It doesn't matter if you present the user with an error message that references SQL. Users don't read error messages, and even if they would, the target audience for your application thinks SQL is some kind of mystic enchantment that people like me utter over chicken entrails in order to extract data. If you allow them to change something they generally think that they have changed them, even if they can't. Then they call me.

I am not some country bumpkin hired off the street. I am fully conversant in your application, and I know the difference between a bug report and a feature request. Please do ,me the curtesy of not treating me like an overexcited data entry clerk please.
