A) her husband pretty much an invalid and a dependent who only survives through a combination of local charity, grey market medicine and government healthcare (which the government keeps trying to end)? Wouldn't moving risk his continued health/healthcare access/money supply?
B) she from a family of financial disasters with no contacts anywhere? She's the Marcus Brody of the Midwest. In the US, you may be able to move state to state with no papers, but you can't even move to Montana to raise rabbits without a fat wad of cash. I doubt she could afford the moving costs, let alone the rent, renter's insurance, utilities and cost of living that you would find in any US non-shithole.

Maybe it's because I don't read most of her "debates" these days, but I find it difficult to feel so much antipathy towards someone whose life really is pretty shitty through very little fault of her own.
