Presumably a male character. Because that's totes different than female character being gay. The former being all "serious issues" and such, with the latter being fanservice and No Big Deal. I guess.

Sadly, Archie Comics already beat them to the gay character punch, albeit with a new character.

So, will it be as useless as Rowling saying Dumbledore is gay when no textual evidence exists to support it?

Only because I like the technical aspects of their songs: polyrhythms, odd time signatures, inventive devices to help with sound, interesting uses of guitar and bass, etc. The lyrics are highly pretentious (look no further than the album Lateralus) but they come last in my enjoyment. However, two songs in particular helped me with depression nearly a decade ago. I know that sounds crazy, and it is, but it happened.

Depends on how they do it, as they are rebooting a bunch of their comics anyway, so older canon won't matter that much.
