How much cash do I have to provide you to document your experiences at CanCon
idk but three day entry as well as the trek card game is looking like it will be at least 30 bucks

i think this would have pretty big documentary potential actually

like i don't know shit about cancon

it's a huge mystery and their website is pretty unintuitive

so i will be venturing into the unknown which is pretty exciting right

lots of interview potential as well yknow

Yeah, there's a lot of "interesting" people at Cancon. Lots of old guys re-enacting Market Garden, trying to do better and such.

To save money, bring food. I have a car powered kettle for making cup noodles.

I keep thinking you're talking about cancun, or some enigmatic Canadian conman :psyduck:

Why bother with expensive make up when you can just stay in your basement for a month?

goths use white cream-based foundation and brush a white powder across it to get the bone-white look, so if you can find some pallid-skin foundation or apply white foundation lightly and thinly, you should be able to get the good ol' "blind cave fish" complexion going.

if you don't know how to apply foundation, i may have to talk you through the process over the phone.

hmm well without giving away too much of the movie magic i guess there are two ways of going about this

a) my character is originally the nerd antithesis and through circumstances partially brought about through the folly of man becomes the pallid fedora he despises

b) the character is played fairly straight throughout and does not become one of the cancon people but in fact tours the place and interacts with them for his own somewhat mean-spirited amusement

so if it's b) we could put the phone call in

a) would be logistically more complex with costumes and makeup and also i'm not sure if i want to give up shaving

this is pretty fun you guys i've got a brainstorming paper going on and everything

i don't quite know yet without being there, nothing actually antagonistic i don't want to be a jerk

a lot of it will be my own manufactured uncomfortableness i think

i'll probably just try and have an ineptly fun time

tbh i've been focused more on the pre-con stuff

i thought maybe i'd try to trade some hideous custom warhammer figure i've mushed together out of my old stuff

i now have what i feel is a more positive and narratively legitimate direction (bakustra i will take you up on that phone call) and so inspired was i for this project that i have created a teensy camera stand

Image

i mean right now it doesn't do much more than if i put the camera on a stack of books but i feel it has room for future development

Also, Phant, I think there's an option with PHPBB that let you set a number X of pages / posts after which topics gets automatically locked and a new one with the same subject is opened.
