I wonder if this one will actually be focused more on the free running parts that were fun than the memorisation of enemy layouts so you can solve the puzzle of defeating them after dying 50 times in a cramped building that ended up being most of the missions.

Also I wonder if they're realise that when they have half the cinematics in the same first-person perspective as the game which works well, they shouldn't have the other half be weird esurance videos. I mean I like the style but it just didn't fit in at all.

So the more I read about Xbox One, and the fact that sony's probably going to do similar shit, It's looking more and more like i'll be done with console gaming soon.

Does anyone know of any historical games which don't have wars in them?

We were discussing historical reenactment through video game a few weeks ago, and we wondered if there were any games outside of WIN WW2 AGAIN!

Thoughts?

Ownership of PC games, at least from a lot of the major developers, has been dead for years, but at least on PC there are some companies that don't do it, or you can get stuff dirt-cheap through services like Steam, GoG, or Origin to compensate.

What's pissing me off isn't that Microsoft's killing the second hand market, everybody knew they were going to try that anyways. It's that they aren't going to give us a way to get games cheaper after they've been out for a significant amount of time. One of the things I love most about stores like Gamestop, is that I can go back and buy a game that I either missed when it first came out, or only rented and would like to try again for some reason, and I can do it for pennies on the dollar if the game is old enough. Microsoft is still charging bare minimum of 20$ for digital copies of games that were released in the 360's first year.

Hell that brings up another issue. Microsoft has said that they're going to find some way to allow rentals through "participating retailers." What does that mean? Is gamefly doomed now?

 So according to IGN the PS4 will have used games depending on the publishers decision. S it's exactly what MS is doing.

*reading various gaming forum threads and news articles*

Christ. Is Microsoft trying to lose the next phase of the console war to Sony from the get go? Serious question. It really does look like they've decided that their console division is too expensive and are trying to burn the whole thing to the ground.

It all comes down to whether the gains from the multimedia stuff balances out the collapse they're going to get from gamers
which is too early to tell, I think

Literally everyone else other than me that I personally know uses their xbox primarily for multimedia features, and not primarily gaming

So things look pretty good that perspective.

It's definitely my primary use, and I still play a shitload of video games. The improved Kinect and multitasking sold it for me even before they'd announced any of the exclusives.
