I don't honestly see The Empire Strikes Back as shit. I don't love it, but I do like it and don't have much bad to say about it.

Though, I'm taking the troll character to heart. Here's the unedited incomplete draft of a post I started earlier, but then had other shit to do so didn't post:

Let's say you're analyzing my Destructionator character. Why does he troll Star Wars topics?

"he's a troll"

Well, like "asshole", that might describe the what, but it doesn't really describe the why. A person is labeled a troll or an asshole based on what he does, not why he does it.

Let's look at some why answers.

"because it amuses him"

This is a fair answer for a lot of trolls, and if it's the case, it can influence the plot on the forum. If trolling amuses someone, you can defeat him by taking the amusement back out - hence, the timeless adage, "please, don't feed the trolls".


But, what if his motivation is something from inside himself rather than responses?

"because he wants revenge"

Revenge isn't just about getting responses. It can be gotten in all kinds of ways. Not feeding the troll isn't necessarily going to stop the behavior, because the responses aren't what drives him.

This brings us to another question: he wants revenge, but for what? What action did Star Wars take upon the Destructionator to make him mad at them?


At this point, you might look into his backstory and find some action that caused it. This question still matters though, because it can influence him later.

If it's them saying "ster trak sux hur", his actions are probably going to be biased toward sticking it right back to them: "ster werz sux moar". Moreover, the resolution now has some options available. It might not have to end with a lightsaber duel - maybe if the Rabid Warsies were to publically recant their heresies and sincerely apologize to him, Gene, Rick, and Brannon, he'd back off.
