So can you download this game for free, or do I actually have to buy a copy to play it? I know there's no subscription fee, but what about the game itself?

They've gone the freemium route, so the client is completely free.

Bingo, costs nothing but a bit of time and bandwidth to find out whether you'd enjoy it or not.

They're being a bit cagey on exactly when that will be

I for my part have joined what the krauts call a flotte and am saving minerals and creds for base building. Hope we can get a kick arse chill out room.

There is not a fleet.

I have joined 21st Cerberus to get onboard with starbase building, which begins... Well, it might have begun by now, I haven't logged in for a few days.

Season 6 is live! If you can manage to log in, that is. I got in a single run of "No Win Scenario" before the connection dropped out.

Yeah, I've been at work all day and keeping an eye on the fleet developments. Starbase creation has begun, but server traffic is off its nut. Hopefully it'll have died down a bit by evening.

I've got a few characters but you're most likely to find me playing as josie@timmystyle31 at the moment.
