Your statement is incorrect.

Subjectivity is a weakness.

All things can be determined to be empirically good or bad.

Please refrain from inserting personal opinion into statements regarding art and media and follow FM32932-A4 "Objectivity, your guide to to being an impersonal person".

I found a fair bit (by no means a majority) of the humour in Blues Brothers is funniest to musicians themselves- mind, even the premise of the movie is extra-hilarious to musicians or close frineds thereof.

Mind, that's all anecdotal, so YMMV and it really can't be held as proper debating evidence.

Subjuctive analysis of subjuctive reactions. Is that as far from SD.net as a thing can possibly be?

Yes. And the sad thing is that it's mostly by acknowledging the existence of subjectivity to begin with, because for the most part SDN doesn't allow for such a thing, championing almost everything they state as an objective fact. For them, the simple fact of the matter is that Star Wars is objectively better than Star Trek and is objectively going to beat it in an epic 'Imperial Smackdown'. And objectively all religious people are homicidal nutcases only inches away from screaming bloody murder and blowing up an entire bus full of innocent people in the name of [insert deity here].

It gets to the point where SDN's opinions become, in themselves, objective. Which is defined here as distinct from actual objectivity (or, for that matter, objectivism). Look at the reactions to the latest Star Trek film, James Cameron's Avatar, the Star Wars prequels, and the hard science fiction worship. People are objectively saying that Trek '09 was a horrible film, objectively saying that Quaritch should have bombed the Na'vi from orbit, objectively saying that Red Letter Media's review sucked and that the prequels were semi-decent, and objectively championing the strengths of hard science fiction.

Ralph McQuarrie was the artist who design much of the look and feel of the original Star Wars movies. Everything from starships to costumes were all things he had a hand in.

John Williams composed the soundtrack.

No that was some other up and coming LucasArts or LucasFilm artist guy.

The new guy caught some slack for not designing the Naboo Starfighter with a proper R2-D2 slot. If you notice, the slot isn't wide enough to account for R2's legs so the guy said that R2's whole neck extends like six feet just to poke out of the top :3

well obviously r2-d2 can collapse his body as necessary to accomodate smaller structures

lol great post there

at least the mod had something to say abuot it for once

i'm not even j/kin tho, tapes don't bother me in the slightest

indeed i'm one of those assholes who resisted the dvd thing since i don't see wat the big benefit is about

and i still dont

i watched the blues bros on dvd yesterday

and i complained about aspects of the film but you wanna know what the worst part of the experience was?

"that operation is not permitted by this disc"

what the fuck

so i just wanted to watch the movie

that i paid for btw; i own licensed the 25th anniversary edition dvd thing

but it made me sit through like 5 minutes of ads

srsly what the fuck

that shit never happened with vhs

oh there were ads but you could always fast forward

and even rewind to the feature presentation so you never see them again

and a tape never forgets its place

you can come back to it years later and not have to fast forward to get to where you left off

and they don't get scratched

nor do they have those useless fuckign animated menus

its a superior format

deal with it

anyway yeah tape quality is adequately fit

so mark just called me and said nick jr. has a THE FRESH BEAT BAND compact disc

i've been waiting forever for this

i'll purchase it

so first it wants me to dl itunes

fuck that noise lets try amazon

oooh a physical disc

but i'd have to pay shipping

and they have an mp3 version

let's try that

payment info etc all normal

... wait what the fuck is this

"download the amazon downloader"

jesus christ i have a fucking downloader

its called a web browser

just give me a .zip of the shit or something

god damn it

but at this point they have my money so i'll play along

click

they don't have a version for my os

fuck it give me the windows version i'll just switch computers

so this thing finally downloads and then it says "click here to complete the purchase of somethign completely unrelated"

what the fuck

so close that shit out and i go back to "my account" figuring surely it will be there

it offers to buy again but not to download

christ if i knew this was how it'd be i would have just paid the motherfucking shipping

anyway i switch back to the linux computer.... and now it offers some new download link so i'll hit that

yay a file

copy it to the windows computer and open it

finally the actual files download.......

and insist upon being in itunes, the thing i went to spamazon to avoid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FUCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK

so this stupid thing opens itself and starts hassling me about updating it

fuck you, you ugly apple piece of shit

but after a minute of waiting for it finally the purchases are there

i select all

copy

move to my linux computer's file window

paste

oh thank god finally copying the actual files

and after all this shit, i have regular .mp3 files

now why the fuck couldn't it just be "click here to download your things as regular files" right after payment?

it makes me cry

well i'm never doing that again
