i don't remember who said it.... i think it was in the kremlin propaganda i was watching friday night but it might have been propaganda from tehran or maybe even lies from that traitor glenn greenwald

but regardless somoene was talking about the acceptability of torture

in 2000 something like 70% of ppl said they are strongly against it

by 2008 that dropped to like 55%, with people saying it is sometimes justified to extract key information

and in 2010 a good half of people polled are ok with torture



sooooo that's pretty fucked up


they suggested it is a nasty cycle of real life events and fiction

so like torture is done to "prevent" a "terror attack" and we're told it was the only way and saved lives

then some hollywood piece of shit does a fictionalized version that is like it

and then it happens in real life again

and fiction again



now it is nothing new

like remember that film DIRTY HARRY where he tortured the rapist for the location of the body

but a few diffs

it is way more common now and even the characters who do it are more accepted




and more and more people are starting to openly accept it

and even say people who don't are "weak"

and we should "look forward not backward"
