zod, I wonder how you'd feel about the It's Always Sunny episode that has jokes on child rape.

never seen it and don't really care enough to track it down

i don't really give a fuck how offensive something is until it crosses the line from a joke to something that can be construed as a threat

though it would be interesting to see how many people defending tosh would condemn rush limbaugh's attacks on sandra fluke

It's mixed in an episode that has commentary on the abhorrent nature of child pageants.

It is a sitcom yes. And it's funny as hell, even the kiddie diddling jokes.

Yeah, you could say that
To give you context, a character (Frank) wanted to invest in a pageant. But the dude he teamed up with got arrested for molestation. Frank kept it going for the investment purposes but kept telling people he didn't want to diddle their kids.

So I just went to a range with my friends and fired handguns for the first time.

They're louder than I expected. I'm still waiting for my ears to stop ringing.

My friend Allen told me it's worse in Indoor ranges like that, especially with like four people shooting like there were today. Next time I think i'll ask if we can hit an outdoor range. Plus the indoor one won't let us fire his Mosin-nagant because he uses steel-core ammunition, and I'd really like to fire that gun.

Yes, they gave us these big headphone things that covered our ears, but it still didn't seem like enough. The ringing's finally stopped though.

Oh good. Double up next time for handguns. And the mosin. See if he's got a strap on shoulder pad or that mosin will hurt, it gave me a flinch for a while.

If you go to an indoor range, ESPECIALLY one that allows rifle fire, I highly recommend earplugs and earmuffs. You will otherwise have your bell rung and repeated exposure will cause rock concert level hearing loss. Protip: fire rifles outside and always, always, always use hearing protection. Even with .22LRs.

He fires rifles pretty regularly, he's got the mosin and another bolt-action, plus an AR-15 carbine, so I think he's got some sort of shoulder protection. And thanks for the tip. i'll remember to double up next time.

The range has an AK-47 to rent that I'd like to fire, so I'll definitely be doubling up.

As an aside: if you really want to have fun with a rifle, get outdoors. Indoor ranges just aren't large enough for rifles, and the first time you place most of your mag in the black at 200 yards you'll be hooked. Pistols are great, don't get me wrong, but shooting good rifles is pure Zen.

Full auto?

Short bursts man, "son of a bitch" under your breath gives good three burts.

Lol, chocs; last time I was out a guy had a C14 Timberwolf in .338 lapua (sp?). At 200 yards he was ripping bits of steel off the gong.
