So I was looking in OT on SDN today, and I saw the trailer for the Red Dawn remake.

the stuff in it about the norks using an EMP weapon? They are literally using the exact same plot as Homefront. Ripping off one of the most bland and tasteless video games i've ever played does not endear me to this movie.

It will bomb, the state of California alone has more people than North Korea. At least homefront turned the Far East into a North Korean hegemony through act of plot making it a tiny tiny bit plausible (though not really).

Though I wonder if anyone in the studio actually realizes this.

Remember that THE FACELESS ENEMYtm was originally supposed to be China, but someone at MGM nixed that because they actually want to sell the movie there. Literally the only change they made was to digitally edit the Chinese flags and emblems into North Korean ones.

I think something similar happened with Homefront.
